So there are no longer Timed Entry Vehicle Reservation Passes required during peak season ?
June 13 through September 28 timed entry vehicle reservations are required for the west side of Going-to-the-Sun Road and North Fork from 7 am to 3 pm

Also stay in the park or enter from the East. No lines.

As for too many people in September? GTTS Road doesn't open until Mid June and closes around Mid-October. So the only "good" week is first week of October lol.

TX -> CO 12-hours = Excellent!
TX -> WI 16-hours = Excellent!
TX-> TX 9-hours :LOL: = Excellent as well!

In conclusion : it's a great travelling Truck ( important word there).

I live in Central Florida and am planning a road trip to Glacier National Park in September. About 2,700 miles one way. Wondering if anyone has driven super far yet, and if so, was your 6th Gen comfy on the road, gas mileage etc. Let me know as I am going out on a limb here. I don’t fly, just in case you are wondering.
Had about 1,000 miles on ORP last April when we left on a road trip from the NW tip of WA State to San Antonio and back. Fifteen days and over 5,000 additional miles. Speed limits were 80mph in several areas. Other than a rock chip in the windshield somewhere in NM not a single complaint, even with us motoring along with just gas stops for six hours plus some days. And a high of 24.5 mpg. Here we are at 13,000 miles approaching a year later and have not yet received less than 20.5 mph in combined driving.

No really long trips for me, but did a bit over 300 mile trip each way over 2 days, all freeway, as well as another 450 mile trip each way (that one with a few days of short trips in between). I found it very comfortable. I have the heated/cooled seats, which are really nice. As far as mileage I pretty much always get around 23-24 MPG (not counting off-road of course) in my ORP Hybrid. One the 300 mile trip each way I was pulling a small trailer and it dropped way down to around 18 MPG.

They have done away with it for 2026...

"
Glacier National Park plans to discontinue the formal, pre-booked vehicle reservation/timed-entry system for the Going-to-the-Sun Road and North Fork areas in summer 2026. This change aims to provide more flexibility, eliminating the need for months-in-advance planning. However,, mandatory park entrance fees still apply.

NPS shows it's still on.

Of course NPS wouldn't have the most updated info...

Here is one article: https://glacierguides.com/plan/faq-...th temporary closures to incoming vehicles if

Another: https://dailyinterlake.com/news/202...sitor-fees-and-construction-projects-in-2026/

Take a google and you will see many more. Its the talk of the town up here, as things have whipsawed back and forth the last few year. You'll still be okay. I'd just get there very early and/or take the shuttle up if you're planning on doing some hiking.

WOW! Pretty amazing I must say. I have 7K on mine now and am single so will be doing all of the driving unfortunately. Just not sure if I can knock out 600+ miles a day by myself, but I guess I’ll find out. Having to just guess on how many days it will take to drive the 1,750 from Dallas to Glacier because I have to make actual reservations ahead of time, so that’s my concern.

600 miles is about 12 hrs including gas/piss stops (at least for me)

but ultimately, i go sun up to sun down only driving. cant do night time anymore as my eyes are not as sharp to detect deer and what not at night.

and i really cant stand so many incorrectly adjust led headlights at night.

so i usually go between 12-14 hrs depending on when i wake up in the morning.

Yup if the sun is up I am driving, no issues with comfort in the 6g for me going 12 hours. I can't do long drives in the dark either.

In the first 6 weeks of owning my ORP I drove it from N.J. to Utah and back again, and have since taken it north to Lake Placid, east to Boston, and south to Tampa. I’m now almost 18k miles and 7 months in. MPG hasn’t gone over 22 for me, and most of the winter has settled at about 19 for some reason. I’ve got no windshield or paint chips so far, but I did practically tear the air dam off on a snowbank last week haha The truck is a dream to roadtrip in, especially if you’re going to take it off road sometimes. I’m coming from a rav4, and the 4Runner is so much more comfortable to spend long hours in. If the rear seats folded flat it would be flawless.

This is a high-volume vehicle with a “adventure” bent that has been on sale for well over a year— safe to say many thousands of people have taken long road trips in them. You’re in good company!

I spent six weeks meandering 6500 miles over the summer. Mainly stuck to remote areas out west and off the beaten path. Slowly made my way to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to visit family. Very comfortable ride. I enjoyed how much quieter it was compared to my Subaru Outback inside the cabin.

I put my rig through the ringer. Steep ascents and descents, 4Lo and 4Hi, and camped under many a starry sky listening to the sounds of coyotes in the distance.

Gas mileage was terrible, especially across the highways of the northern plains which also had a headwind. However, I think I finished the trip ~17.5 or ~18mpg average. Bear in mind I have a Trailhunter, which I believe is a bit heavier, and I also had some gear up top.

Incredible trip. I would always rather drive than fly as it allows me to slow down and just live in the moment.
