Just returned from our first roady with the SR5. Roughly 95% highway miles with an average speed of around 75mph.
Our mpg according to the trucks computer was 26.4 but the real time calculations at the pump came out to 25.6 so really close to real time. Rather happy with the fuel economy so far.
This is my wife's daily driver which is good because I am 6' 3" 240 and for me these fabric seats are some of the most uncomfortable seats for big and tall guys I have experienced. They cradle your tail end perfect if you are relatively small or medium built. My butt and right leg were asleep within 30 mins of starting the trip. Its the side bolstering, it digs in to your hips way to firmly if you are on the wider side and then the backrest is just as bad by squeezing your sides too tight. I am curious how the higher trim levels seats feel?
The hwy ride quality is a mixed bag for me. Its definitely a rugged ride when the roads get bumpy or rough. The 245/70/17 Yokohamas are too unstable for my liking. Too narrow and soft feeling for my taste. They were great on smooth hwy in a straight line but in the corners and turns it didnt feel great. We ordered a wider larger set of tires 33" as well as a set of Method 703s in Matt Black. I know its a 4 runner and is meant to handle the off road terrain so it's fine but my wife will not be offroading in this much at all. Hoping the new tires will feel more stable and improve the looks as well.
