  1. 6G Paint Questions - Durability? Ceramic Coat or PPF?

Not sure why I have not had any problems with anything about our ride as others have. I realize that folks forgo the Zurich coating that Toyota pushes but I had it done anyway on our Cutting Edge finish just to try it before taking delivery back in March plus both upper and lower PPF. After...
  2. Overall a good truck, but a big Fail and a bit of a miss

If you have a case on your phone the charger is not going to work. Minus a case the charger works great for me and I'm using Android Auto, Bluetooth and Google Maps. Will completely charge my sometimes nearly dead phone and keep it charged while using the apps. I have had four adults with...
  3. Owners Manual says no snow chains on 265/70R18 tires. Anyone use cables that will work without damaging?

I purchased chains for our 4Runner at our local Les Schwab a week or so ago. We test fitted them in the parking lot. Looked good so I picked them up. Test fitted them again at home and gave them a thorough look from every angle. Could not see any issue. They also mentioned tire socks.
  4. Tire Chains Installed on 265/70/18 Tires - Chaining Up For Snow

With winter snows coming or in some locations already here a few have been concerned about their 4Runner manual stating that they cannot utilize tire chains. With the 265/70R18 Falken factory tires on our Off Road Premium I have that problem as the manual states that chains cannot be fitted to...
  5. 2025 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium is useless in the winter (can't fit tire chains)

Just the back. Not enough clearance in front. Suspension components. In all but the worst cases all most will need is just a set on the back.
  6. 2025 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium is useless in the winter (can't fit tire chains)

I need chains for the same reason you do. A remote cabin down 3/4 of a mile of sometimes unplowed forest road with deep snow. I have had my 3/4 ton truck stuck on it with all four chained up. My real problem is a hill which is sometimes icy. When it gets like that I need chains to get out even...
  7. 2025 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium is useless in the winter (can't fit tire chains)

Went to my trusted tire shop a few weeks ago after reading about tire chains in the manual. Test fitted this set and bought them. Here they are this morning in my driveway. Crawled around and under again. No clearance issues with these that I can see. The heavy cross bar chains that I use on my...
  8. Photo Request - 285/70/17 Spare Tire

Ruts and mud would be my issue and I would hit both, hanging up if the ruts are deep enough.
  9. Photo Request - 285/70/17 Spare Tire

If you look closely you will note that it does not hang lower than the bottom of the rear differential. I would say that if you drag the spare tire somewhere you might have a bigger problem and maybe some real damage elsewhere.
  10. Spare tire issue - wear marks on sidewall from rubbing against frame

I took mine off a week ago just to look it over, test the mechanism and make a trial run. There were marks on my spare too but I think that's all they were, marks. I don't believe there was structural damage to the tire and rim which were also dirty from six months and 10,000 miles of sitting up...
  11. TireRack "Aggressive fitment" warning on winter wheel tire package

I have the TRD Off Road Premium which comes with the 265/70R18 tires. Manual says you cannot mount chains on these due to clearance issues. I too live in snow country and I did not want to use socks or other approved devices as I don't think they would work with a foot or more of snow on top of...
  12. Considering Limited with Optional 3rd Row

In the 22 years we owned our 2003 Sequoia i can count on one hand the number of times we used the third seat. So far this year we made one 300 mile round trip in our new Off Rd Premium with two adult grandkids seated in the second row and the backed stuffed with luggage for a seven day cruise...
  13. Owners Manual says no snow chains on 265/70R18 tires. Anyone use cables that will work without damaging?

Addressed this issue a few days ago. Took our TRD Off Rd Premium in to my trusted tire shop. Employee brought out the set pictured and test fitted the pair. Both of us on hands and knees could not identify any conflict with the body or suspension components so I sacked them up. Ignore the...
  14. Best Practical Mods for a 2025 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium (Snow Trips, Surfing, and Daily Driving)

I have not decided yet. Keep in mind that the manual specifically mentions the 265 70R18 tires that are unable to use chains. I'm assuming that since we have Off Road Premiums we have the same tire size. Sometime soon I'm going to visit the tire shop I have used for years and see what we can...
  15. Best Practical Mods for a 2025 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium (Snow Trips, Surfing, and Daily Driving)

I live in WA. During the winter I regularly drive in snow deep enough to likely rip off the air dam that is still attached. Then there are the drifts. Every year I have to chain up my lifted 3/4 ton truck at least once. When the mountain passes get bad the DOT may require either chains on all...
  16. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

I have had a few Toyota vehicles as have other family members. You can't go wrong with Toyota. The last was a 2003 Sequoia which we purchased new and owned until a few days after we picked up our 2025 TRD Off Road Premium that we waited about three months for. Other than normal wear and tear and...
  17. Skid Plate Bolts Loose

Don't know about the cheap stock pieces, but if you put on or had the TRD skid plate put on the bolts are supposed to be torqued to 27 ft/lbs.
  18. Trip to the Dealership w/ List of Issues

I was 1,000 miles or so from home and wanted the coating of bugs off the car so I ran it through a car wash which I don't normally do. Your dealer must not be very good. Took our Sequoia to ours for the 20 years we had it. Ours had the clips. The ones I could see were just the ordinary push pins...
