  1. 2525 miles, 46:35 hours driving time, NM-CO-UT-ID-WA road trip

You got 21.5 mpg with that roof box?! I did a very long 6k mile trip and averaged 17.5 myself. Granted I had a roof box, traction boards, and a shovel up there, but even when they're off I've never seen anything higher than 18mpg with my hybrid.
  2. Tie down accessories for the ARB 3/4 roof rack

No noticeable noise. The mpg takes a decent hit though especially if driving across the windy plains.
  3. What do you do for work?

I made the video games you or your children played.
  4. New tire options after sidewall puncture on Trailhunter.

Welp. I'm sure glad I didn't air down. After about 70 miles in the North Dakota Badlands I punctured the tread and got a flat. A very non-technical road that a Subaru would easily eat up. A puncture repair kit saved the day and I was on my way. ...but I'm certainly considering swapping to new...
  5. New tire options after sidewall puncture on Trailhunter.

Thank you for this. Great lessons all around. Much appreciated.
  6. New tire options after sidewall puncture on Trailhunter.

This is immensely helpful. I'm embarking on a long trip with a lot of rough gravel and dirt roads and my question would be if it's even feasible (or safe) to consider airing down 5psi (from spec 33psi)to make for a more comfortable ride with these OEM Open Country tires. I'm having to...
  7. Tie down accessories for the ARB 3/4 roof rack

I use these mounting base plates: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTB9SSBX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 I had the same issue with the mounting pins being a bit too far apart and I therefore had to 'float' the base plate a bit higher than the rails so I could get the ideal position. If I...
  8. Tie down accessories for the ARB 3/4 roof rack

If it further helps these are the bolts I bought to mount my shovel, Roam Case, and traction boards. The square heads fit the slots perfectly. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKLVHPP4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
  9. Bike rack not detected as trailer

Weird. Today after a mountain bike ride my 4Runner flashed a message saying "Trailer Detected Press OK to Confirm". Would having my hitch bike rack as "trailer" in theory override some of these braking and beeping settings?
  10. Trailhunter 4Runner build

Fantastic! Looking great. I'm 6'4'' myself and fit great. No way I'd fit if they included the sunroof though. Congrats! I can't justify the PPF cost personally, but I think you'll be happy with your choice if it's worth it to you. The paint seems thin and scratches are already showing up with...
  11. Missing cross member bar in the ARB 3/4 roof rack

I believe it was about $110 from Sparks Parts (not including shipping). ...which was a bit annoying to say the least.
  12. Missing cross member bar in the ARB 3/4 roof rack

I too had to order the fifth cross member so I could properly mount my gear up top. I can only imagine this was for costs savings given most Trailhunters likely don't see dirt, sadly. A bit annoying, but the ordered part fit perfectly and came with the hardware.
