I dumped my factory fill at 850mi.

Oil looked ok, typical even.

Replaced with OEM Toyota N1 filter and 6qts of Mobil 1 0w-20 ESP x2
What is ESP?

shouldn't all the oils be changed out too? the transmission, diffs, they all new oil also then no?

Someone on here or one of the Facebook groups changed all of the fluids. It seems like overkill, but who knows? I had my oil changed at just over 1,000 at a local shop that I use all the time. I’ll have him change again at the 3k mark. We’ll see if the dealership wants to touch it at 5k. The manual does say to change at least every six months, and that should be about 5k for me anyway.

It was pretty cheap at Walmart; iirc it was $27 for the 5qt jug and $8.50 for the 1qt.

$7 for the filter and drain plug gasket brings the total to $40.

Much cheaper than the 7qts + $15 Mann filter I bought for my erstwhile 340i.

The ESP x2 is serious stuff, comprising of 75% GTL and 25% PAO - in addition to meeting stringent specs like MB 229.71.

Euros have been doing turbo engines with thin viscosity for about a decade now, they probably know a thing or two.

When my warranty is up I plan on going to Pennzoil 0w-30 LX or maybe the M1 ESP 0w-30.

After changing oil what is your oil pressure reading showing at idle? Mine is showing between the middle line or slightly above it.
