Looking forward to receiving the turbo @QuezJacq! I will be skipping stage 2 and going straight to stage 3 this year. A friend and neighbor will be performing the installation. I do not have the patience nor skills past the basics! 😂
Sounds like a plan! I just changed all fluids in the 20k-21k range. It’s a 24mm socket for the diff, and I recommend getting the short ones, hex. You will want to replace the crush washer as well.
I believe it’s going to depend on your modifications, towing and off-roading. I’m planning a 25k change and every 25k-30k thereafter. I’ve updated a lot under the hood, and tow and off-road a little bit. The LC forums are showing a definite need at 40k.
I will come back to this form in...
In one of the LC forums, I found they are recommending 40k per the manual with some noting they are changing plugs at the 25k-30k mark. I’m running some performance mods - intercooler, charge pipes, downpipe and a tune with more on the way. Given all that, I’m shooting for 25k. If they don’t...
I did front differential and transmission along with an oil change at 20k and plan the rear and transfer case next weekend. I was surprised how clean all that looked as well! My plan is to do this every 20k as I’ve heard a number of 4Runner owners claim you won’t ever have any problems if you...
The intercooler and charge pipes from SXTH along with a downpipe from OTT were all installed at the same time. I’d say those three together woke the vehicle up so much. It’s a game changer! The downpipe was probably the big winner by eliminating back pressure.
I didn’t figure out the sequence either, and I don’t have a reader. If you have an infrared thermometer, a reading of 110 pointed at the transmission works just fine.
If you’re demanding more from the engine, you need to take care of its essentials. We’re talking about pushing to a range of 390-420hp, nearly a 40% increase over stock. It transitions from a commuter to a performance/severe-duty maintenance schedule. However, some of these things need to be...
Looking to see what it sounds like with the aftermarket exhaust. The updated turbo and a turbo inlet will be next for mine.
You are going to love it with the intercooler, charge pipes and downpipe! I was pleasantly surprised to see my average MPGs go up as well. The factory downpipe is too...
Doing a drain and fill of transmission, differentials and transfer case next weekend. For those of you who have owned other Toyotas, how often do you drop the pan for a filter and gasket replacement? Some guys have told me they’ve always done a drain and fill only and are in the 150k-200k...
