Mishimoto just came out with one for the 4th gen taco. Lots of chat on the taco forums about that issue as well. Wonder how much needs to be modified for use in the 4runner if any.

One thing I don't like, haven't dug into...
Trailhunter and trd front skids should work on either hybrid or non.
The transfer case skid will be a diff pt # as mentioned on the datasheet below thread. I believe the Hybrids have an additional cross member. See below
PT228-35248 for non hybrid
PT228-35247 for hybrid...
Good info all around. Can you guys elaborate on the Wildpeak being heavy? Compared to the Toyos for example? How much?
Also if you had to rate the noise, which one comes out on top?
Here's a video where he claims 1 cup excess oil is left with the fumoto on vs if you take it off.
I was almost going to buy this but I think Ill stick to the old method for now. Either way should be ok.
To summarize your point, “I’ve been alive for 60 years, trust me bro, my experience is conclusive proof” doesn’t cut it, I’m sorry
The logic that many use on here is this...
Risk of changing oil at half interval = Near 0. DIY cost $40 2-3 times a year.
Risk of trusting Toyota interval =...
Risk of changing oil at half interval = Near 0. DIY cost $40 2-3 times a year.
Risk of trusting Toyota interval = potentially huge $$ loss
Therefore, one can eat the cost out of abundance of caution. Can be proven out later one way or another with no down sides other than some time and low $...
Just because you didn't see anything = good? No trying to be a jerk but thats not how logic and science works. If you expected to see metal shavings then I think you need to see some youtube videos from the motoroil geek about this. Its free
We desperately need some tests proving the thicker oil is better for the engine that requires 0w-20, eg cooler oil temps (thicker oil btw will run hotter) and less wear particles. So far I haven't seen anything of that nature. Its just a dart against the wall.
"I used thicker oil and nothing...
Congrats!
Your trim comes with almost everything you need, keep it OEM+ unless you really have a need.
A few things you may want to consider:
Break in oil change, yes modern engines break in proven with oil analysis. If you dont care then skip.
Frame rust protection especially if you live in...
Ive seen a few move it to the back bumper. So it can be done, however there's many tradeoffs to be made.
Blocking camera, overhang, higher cg. Possibly worse departure angle. Relocate the rear plate. Longer vehicle for parking, swing out gets annoying opening the rear. Aesthetically ugly and...
Unfortunate, I think its a bit too much for touchup paint to look good. But you can try! Double check the color code on the paint is correct, shake it up very well. It looks very runny. Apply a very thin layer and wait at least 10 mins to dry before the 2nd coat. 2-3 coats is enough. Apply the...
Please let us know your findings. I'd like to know if this is consistent across others.
In regards to the "on" vs "off" for [daytime running lights], I'm not sure. Until I turned it off, Ive never had DRL working properly. I generally don't have mine on Auto.
There's 2 fuse boxes in the engine bay and one under the glove box area. The one directly in front of the of the driver (engine bay) has plenty of spots. Not sure about the glove box one, haven't looked inside.
I checked a couple of the empty fuses that do have power. But have a line across...
