What's one thing every 4Runner owner should keep in their vehicle at all times?

A dry microfiber cloth in the glove-box, that way I can wipe the dash, since it is dusty all the time lol
I use microfiber on the multimedia screen and a vac with soft brush for the dust console and interior dust.

A fire extinguisher is the only must have piece of gear that I carry.
I've debated this with myself and decided not to carry one. If the vehicle is on fire, the last thing I want to be doing is futzing around it with a fire extinguisher. I'd be in respectful distance taking pictures for the insurance company.

Besides the obvious recovery gear. 😄

If you could only recommend one item that every 4Runner owner should have on every trip, whether it's for towing, camping, off-roading, road trips, or daily driving, what would it be and why?

Curious to see what makes everyone's must-have list.

I have carried a first aid kit and fire extinguisher in every vehicle I have owned for the past 50 year. Carried other items too in most vehicles but always a first aid kit and extinguisher.

It is there for anyone or thing that has a need, not just me.

As a young boy in the 1950s, I saw two children who were riding in a utility trailer and under a tarp, burn to death because they were playing with matches. It’s a sight that has never left my memory. That’s one reason I like fire extinguishers.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned this: water. For me, the dogs, and engine (although the latter probably the least important at this point, since the vehicle is new).

Good points on the fire extinguisher. A friend of mine suffered a lot of damage to her Jeep because the ARB compressor under the hood caught fire. Someone with her extinguished it with their fire extinguisher, preventing much further damage. She had an extinguisher as well, but learned it was not sufficiently accessible...so if you carry one make sure it is easy to get to

Battery jump pack/air compressor combo. Keep one in all the cars, use it often.

Well I'll chime in and I'm assuming these are things you're carrying when you're in the outback. I always carry a couple of cans of bear spray and pepper gel.

First Aid Kit, Halon Fire Extinguisher, Milwaukee Portable Compressor, AGM Jack, Milwaukee Impact Driver, Soft Socket, Tool Roll, Tire Plug Kit. Hand Gun and possibly a SBR, depending on my intended excursion. I keep the tools in a Milwaukee Pac-Out Crate secured in the rear, Fire Extinguisher mounted to the front of Driver's Seat and working to find a permeant solution for Hand Gun. I have this kit in all of my vehicles less my Work Vehicle due to insurance reasons relating to Fire Arms. Anyone with a good, discrete mounting solution, please share.
