I live in Pennsylvania. I kind of off road every day in the pothole raised pavement capitol of the United States. Not to mention the tar they use to fill cracks in the asphalt. Rt 5 along lake Erie shoreline feels like a rumble strip. Do you think 2.5s would help?

Very funny. Other oil is permissible in an emergency however it should be changed back to 0W-20 at the earliest chance.

Where did you get that information? I'm asking because my Daughter is currently in Frankfort, Germany. She checked for me and the Toyota oil in Germany recommender for the 2025 4Runner iForce 4L turbo engine is 0W-20.

After break-in, about 15K miles, I'll switch to Super Tech 5W-20 forever. Change it every 6mo or 3k miles. I doubt it will see 3K miles in 6 Mo, but it will be changed every 6 mo. Until 15K, oil will be changed every 6 Mo./3K using Toyota oil 0W-20. Probably take 3 years.

After failing to fix it 3 times, you should have threatened to lemon law it. It did qualify after 3 failed attempts. My wife did so with a Denali that had a terrible mold smell and the same battery issue.

Was the oil color very dark (at my first 626 miles it looked like tar) . What did the 2K look like? I'll change again at 1500. Did not do filter at 626 but will change at 1500. 0W-20 till I see what the Oil Geek does.

Chalk test, very interesting. When I bought my 4Runner the tire pressure was at max 50 PSI. The ride was a little rough that's why I checked. I lowered them all to 40 with very little improvement in ride quality. Dunlap tires. May try this test. Thanks for your post.
