Yes, I have heard the same thing from a master mechanic and diagnostician. He swears by every 3K miles! 10K is just asking for trouble. I will change it every 5K.Two interesting data points, and I folks in the auto industry have told me the same thing about the EPA and credits for the manufacturers:
1) When this engine was introduced in in the 2022 Lexus NX, the recommended oil change interval was 5K (and not 10K)
2) Take a quick look at how many cars from the last 10 years are experiencing catastrophic engine failures around the 100-130K mile mark... mostly lubrication related. If you have not seen them, talk to your mechanic.. and get an ear full.
