I'm guessing I just never looked at that gauge during warm-up before. It does come up to normal operating temperature eventually, so I think my concern was misplaced. However, my air dam was missing two screws by the time I got around to removing it. It had no damage ... yet.
I finally got around to removing the front air dam on my 2025 TRD Sport. This, after it scraped a lot while on a power line road the other day. No problem with the air dam, but the very next time I took it out, the transmission oil temp gauge took a very long time to come up to normal temp. To...
I used to use ECO mode all the time until one day I was waiting for an opening to make a left turn and tried to scoot across when an opening came. I pressed the gas pedal and it took about two full seconds before it responded. I almost got hit! Now, I mostly use SPORT for the responsive...
Yes, I have heard the same thing from a master mechanic and diagnostician. He swears by every 3K miles! 10K is just asking for trouble. I will change it every 5K.
TRD Sport gives me between 22 and 25 mpg avg. Combination city/highway and some dirt roads but nothing that requires 4x4. I usually use Normal mode unless I'm on the highway then I use Eco. If I'm on dirt roads or in certain areas of town, I'll use Sport mode.
According to the manual, and my own experience, the system will turn off lane assist if I take my hands off the steering wheel for too long. That means I have to hold the wheel for the feature to continuously operate. Of course, my instinct is to steer the vehicle and the system also wants to...
Took my TRD Sport in for its first service and oil change at 5000 miles. Was told it wasn't due for an oil change until 10k miles. I think my jaw hit the floor. Anyway, they said they could certainly do an oil change today but it would have to be one of the two oil changes allowed under the free...
Interesting. When I took mine in for its first oil change, I asked about the brake squeal service bulletin and was told the problem had to be repeatable by them and very noticeable. It would be an all-day service. I declined because I've heard it only a couple of times and can't make it happen...
I'm used to the old cruise control. I don't like it acting like it knows what's best for me. Plus, the lane assist feature doesn't work well for me. It works for a few seconds then cautions me to take control of the wheel because it's going to disable itself. A few seconds later it starts...
After driving a few days and trying different ways to disable the PCS, I have concluded there is no way to disable it permanently using the menus on the instrument cluster. It defaults to ON every time you restart the vehicle. But, it will remember the sensitivity setting. I set it to minimum...
So I pulled the fuse but the pilot led stayed on. It must have an internal battery. Then I removed the device from the vehicle and brought it in my house. The led is has started blinking an hour later. The vehicle still starts and the SiriusXM still works. The key fob still locks the doors and...
I just noticed another fact possibly related to the IKON device under the hood. My key FOB has an IKON sticker on the back. and that sticker has an IMEI number on it. Hmmm.
