  1. Skid Plates - OEM or Aftermarket?

I’ve heard mixed reviews of CBI, and RCI is local. I’ve had their rails on both this and my previous one, and they’ve held up really well.
  2. Skid Plates - OEM or Aftermarket?

First time I hit a rock with my pro I ripped one of the letters off my OEM, so as soon as RCI has theirs available, I plan to swap out for theirs.
  3. Dealer wanting to run credit check even though paying cash?

Check and trade in. To be fair, pretty much everyone's SSN is already out in the wild thanks for Equifax, Anthem, etc. It never was meant to be a secret (they used to post our grades outside the classroom by SSN). If you've got a security freeze (not a credit lock) they can't do anything with...
  4. Dealer wanting to run credit check even though paying cash?

I had this when I bought my Pro. Didn't make a stink out of it because I knew there were 20 people willing to do it to get the MudBath. I suspect it's also to make sure that my check won't bounce.
  5. 2026 4Runner now arriving at dealers (Wave Maker TRD Pro)

Hawaii is the one place where that color might work....I just don't get smurf. But then again I didn't get lime green either.
  6. Stolen! Key fob cloning theft method used to steal 2025 4Runner 6th gen

Everytime. Once you press unlock, it reactivates the always-on transmitter.
  7. WAVE MAKER 4Runner 6th Gen (2025+) Photos

I still think it looks like a Smurf, but then again I thought the lime green a few years back looked like Absinth.
  8. First Oil Change for Hybrid iForce Max?

There’s a post elsewhere in the forum from a real oil engineer - based on that I did my first one at 1K, and plan the second at 5K, then every 5K after that.
  9. Do you change your own oil or have Toyota service center do it?

Haven't changed my own oil since my 84' Pontiac. Not worth the time/hassle/disposal. I've got a local toyota authorized/but not a dealer shop that does great work. Schedule an appointment, in and out in 30 minutes. Total no brainer.
  10. 2025 TRD Pro OEM Mud flaps

THey're pretty stiff, I replaced mine with Rally Armor which are much more flexible. They do protect the paint for sure, and they also stop snow from getting on rock rails (not that you have that problem in CA).
  11. WAVE MAKER 4Runner 6th Gen (2025+) Photos

Yeah, they didn’t send down mudbath, but maybe they’ll send down Smurf next year.
  12. Data transmission- features lost

Yep, that's why I don't connect any of that stuff to the internet directly. I'm sorry, my toaster doesn't need the cloud, and Breville doesn't need my data. If you use social media, you're the product, not the customer. In some cases, like here, I'm ok with that. But Facebook? Twitland...
  13. Data transmission- features lost

I don’t use google for anything, because their whole business model is selling user data. Ditto facebook, and other social media. Apple may use it internally, but they don’t sell it. Least worst alternative. There is zero benefit to the connected services that’s worth letting Toyota sell...
  14. 2025 4runner TRD PRO cost for a solid paint job

You're comparing the old paint with high VOCs that the Feds banned a few years back. No modern paint will be that durable, even aftermarket.
  15. TRD Pro - Not So Pro Ride Quality!!!

Are you comparing the 4Runner to unibody vehicles, or body on frame trucks? My pro rides better than my 2021 ORP, but I've driven 4Runners for years (with a slight detour to a Tacoma). They drive like trucks, and I'm ok with that.
  16. Data transmission- features lost

I've got it turned off. Digital key, some of the mileage metrics, driver profiles, remote start. You do get a periodic annoying nag screen about enabling it. You also (apparently) lose over the air updates, but since we haven't had one yet, I can't confirm. Worst case the dealer can do the...
  17. WAVE MAKER 4Runner 6th Gen (2025+) Photos

Just heard a rumor today that there's no Mudbath at all for 2026.
  18. Mudflaps: Yay or Nay?

Very flexible, they can bend really far. I'm not worried about them getting bent/broken off (now caught and torn off, well, that's always a risk.
