There’s a post elsewhere in the forum from a real oil engineer - based on that I did my first one at 1K, and plan the second at 5K, then every 5K after that.
Haven't changed my own oil since my 84' Pontiac. Not worth the time/hassle/disposal.
I've got a local toyota authorized/but not a dealer shop that does great work. Schedule an appointment, in and out in 30 minutes. Total no brainer.
THey're pretty stiff, I replaced mine with Rally Armor which are much more flexible.
They do protect the paint for sure, and they also stop snow from getting on rock rails (not that you have that problem in CA).
Yep, that's why I don't connect any of that stuff to the internet directly. I'm sorry, my toaster doesn't need the cloud, and Breville doesn't need my data.
If you use social media, you're the product, not the customer. In some cases, like here, I'm ok with that. But Facebook? Twitland...
I don’t use google for anything, because their whole business model is selling user data. Ditto facebook, and other social media. Apple may use it internally, but they don’t sell it. Least worst alternative.
There is zero benefit to the connected services that’s worth letting Toyota sell...
Are you comparing the 4Runner to unibody vehicles, or body on frame trucks?
My pro rides better than my 2021 ORP, but I've driven 4Runners for years (with a slight detour to a Tacoma). They drive like trucks, and I'm ok with that.
I've got it turned off. Digital key, some of the mileage metrics, driver profiles, remote start.
You do get a periodic annoying nag screen about enabling it.
You also (apparently) lose over the air updates, but since we haven't had one yet, I can't confirm. Worst case the dealer can do the...
The hybrid makes a massive difference going up I-70…it’ll drive faster than I’m comfortable with, at low RPM. Also is about a 25% mileage improvement over my 5th gen, and the torque off road is really impressive. Only downside other than cost, is a couple more air filters to worry about, and a...
Depends on your altitude. Here in Colorado, I run 85 without an issue. If I were driving to a lower altitude on a tank before I ran it dry, I’d put in 87 just for that run. In CA, I’d run 87. Which…is what regular gas is at those altitudes. It’s exactly what Toyota recommends, and I trust...
Soooo....sometime recently turns out I needed the skid plate on my Pro, and of course, it hit right on the D in the TRD logo...so somewhere up in the colorado hills, it's found a new home.
I can find replacement inlays for up to 2024 models, but haven't seen any for 2025's yet. Anyone either...
Just installed the Rally Armor flaps on my Mudbath Pro. They look great, went on pretty easy, but the instructions could use a bit of work. They’re wide enough for the pro, and flexible enough I’m pretty sure they won’t get torn off when I’m off-road. The only thing I wish is that the screws...
