the 2.0 performance shocks also work, but the reason why i got the 2.5 is because if i ever wanted to change the fronts aswell the 2.5 fronts are closer to stock ride height (they are shorter both compressed and extended according to the fox website). The 2.0’s will make the front sit higher than stock according to @alldogsoffroad

the main criteria was best ride comfort and lowest price
My front Fox 2.0's at the factory setting provided a 2" lift. Also added rear Fox 2.0's. Kept the OEM springs with an added 1" Peak spacer.

I believe you can also run the Fox 2.0 at stock ride height, this is on the Alldogs webpage:

"The front coilovers are set at approximately 2" from the factory. If you do not lift the rear, you may end up nose high. If you want to adjust the coilovers to stock height, lower the coilover spring perch approximately 1". Contact us if you would like us to make adjustment prior to shipment. "

I really appreciate everyone's feedback on these shock modifications!!

yes, this is correct. Chad from @alldogsoffroad was very responsive to my emails and offered to adjust the front 2.0's to match stock height, so getting the 2.0 set of 4 from alldogs is definitely the most economical way to 100% solve the ride quality.

I bought the rear 2.5's because the matching fronts might not even need to be adjusted for the truck to sit level with the stock rear springs, and because they're only $100 more per shock. I did not want to lift or change the rear springs. This may become a moot point for me because I'm leaning towards just keeping the factory bilsteins - I've already solved 75% of the problem only paying 30% of the cost and labor.

note that the 2.5's are about an inch shorter, kind of counterintuitive if you ask me. I could be wrong and the 2.5's also lift the front 2 inches - they could be using the exact same springs for all I know.

Great information, thank you. Now I am waiting for feedback from anyone who has changed the rear shocks on a Limited model....

Fronts are 2.25. I have a set in my garage ready to install in the next few weekends.
We have a set of Fox 2.0's already installed.

Fox 985-02-157 Front Coilovers have a 0-2.25” lift range with 2.25" being max.

Our before & after measurements indicate our 985-02-157 Front Coilovers provided 2" of lift at the factory setting.

@alldogsoffroad website states: "The front coilovers are set at approximately 2" from the factory"

I installed the new Fox 2.5 Performance Series on the 25 orp . They feel very much like the stock Bilsteins, maybe even a bit stiffer.
Need more off road time at high speed for a little more opinion on them.

Very strange. keep us updated.

The OME MT64 may actually be a better choice for improving ride quality, reviewers mention how soft they are.

So far the budget options I know of are:

1. Fox 2.0: https://www.alldogsoffroad.com/fox-20-performance-series-shocks-for-6th-gen-toyota-4runner-lc250
- all users observed better ride quality
- $1730
- front lift over stock: 2"

2. Fox 2.5: https://www.shocksurplus.com/produc...toyota-4runner-4wd-rwd-w-0-2-25-lift-std-tune
- me, @PierceVonCloud observed much better ride quality with just the rears installed. However, just installing the rears does NOT solve the issue 100%.
- @AZGOLD did NOT observe better ride quality
- $2273
- front lift over stock: ???

3. Radflo 2.0: https://www.shocksurplus.com/produc...25-2026-toyota-4runner?variant=40780273975345
- no reviews on this forum, but ShockSurplus reports major improvement for their 6g 4runner
- $1849
- front lift over stock: ???

4. OME MT 64: https://www.corgrit.com/old-man-emu...ner-2025-present-2132k?variant=52861893771627
- reviews on other platforms claim these are very soft riding shocks.
- $2007 with OLD-MAN-EMU-12 discount code
- front lift over stock: 1.75-3" adjustable

I would love to see other users report their results with OME MT64, Radflo 2.0. If I had to re-pick I'd probably go with the OME, the discount code makes them a great deal. This thread is getting quite long - maybe we can clean this up by making a new thread tracking these options and their observed results.
