Are your sure the TSB included new rotors?

I get the squealing in reverse 3 times a week but other times not when reversing. Its getting more frequent and louder. I park in a climate controlled garage, sometimes for a few days without driving.

Does the dealer have to replicate the problem before doing the work. I would not be thrilled about leaving the vehicle at the dealer for days.

Thank You.

Toyota has a "bulletin" out on this front break squeal (in reverse). I took my vehicle to the dealer and they diagnosed the squeal, and approved the replacement of the pads, rotors and shims, under warranty.
Does anyone have a copy of this "bulletin"? Number? Assume this is an update to T-SB-0046-25 Front Brake Squeal Noise 24Jul2025 which does not include rotors. (IIRC)

Edit: Apparently I hit send to quickly and rotors are not included... sigh.

Diatribe below:
I don't have time to hunt right now and I believe this will be helpful to virtually all of us that have the squeal and have had trouble with the dealer acting on things.
In my case I took the car in at 4240 miles for the first oil change and asked for the brake fix - I had provided the TSB number. They failed to even record my request for the brake fix and refused to do the repair under warranty until I pushed back - then Service Advisor called back to say Service Manager has OKed the fix under warranty but they don't have the parts and would let me know when they come in. Of course I hear from the dealer about maintenance all the time but have never heard back about parts being in. I've decided that all my interactions with them will be in writing because they screw up the verbal interactions every time. Anyway.... the old TSB did not include rotors and if there is a new one that does I'd like to get a copy and include in my written request for service when I take it in for 15 + 20K service. I want my second free oil change (20K) and all the inspections that are included in the 15K service. (will be oil change 4 at about 16K miles.)

personally i dont see how replacing the rotors does anything.

most squeals comes from bad pads (materials not tested for this effect)

i get the squeal rarely and randomly, but a quick jab at the brakes makes it go away as i back out of the garage.

sometimes i have to either feather the brakes very lightly or jab the brakes or be more forceful on the brake application.

then the sound goes away until the next exit out of the garage on the way to work. seems it only happens as i exit the garage to go to work. never any other time during the day.

edit: from what i can see/tell, sitting in the garage even the rotors dont get that usual light rust from sitting in humidity environment. so i am guessing its the pads sitting for long periods of non use (5/7+ hours) that is causing the issue.

unfortunately in my case, my 2014 limited oem pads/rotors lasted 10/11 yrs and 96k/106k before replacement.

I had mine done under warranty about 2-3wks ago, and the problem seems fixed.

New pads, shims, and re-grease.

Original pads appeared glazed, as per the notes.

Had mine fixed back in January. They replaced pads and shims. Haven't heard it squeal once since the repair.

I had the warranty fix done some time ago. I believe I had them check on one of the regular maintenance periods (5K or 10K mile) as it had become sufficiently consistent by then and they were able to replicate it. We did have to wait for the parts, but they were in after a few days and I brought it back in. It fully resolved the problem. When under warranty there is no need to go outside that...if it does not resolve then they should do whatever is needed to resolve it.

Curious your poor experience with your dealer. I purchased mine from a different dealer than the one I use for service (more local; actual purchase was through a buying service through my credit union so I have never actually been to that dealer). The service center I use has been generally excellent; no issues.

Yep, agree. Look just under the post it says “sponsored”. Smell like AI.
That "Sponsored" tag just means the ad below is sponsored--it has nothing to do with the post or poster itself. If you have an ad blocker enabled than you will get the tag but no ad below--although likely a big space where the ad would be.

The tsb does not include rotors and your part numbers posted on what was replaced does not mention rotors. Go research each part number online….

I've heard a squeak a few times while backing up. But it seems like it is a non-issue in my ears.

Breaks work good, I go in reverse sometimes with a little speed and apply brakes and never hear any squeaking.

Is this a recall or are we supposed to report this on a individual basis.? Thanks in advance
