Go for a model with AWD or even a different vehicle. For your use and location AWD is a no brainer. Will your wife be driving it? Would she like to switch the drive modes back and forth? Not saying the TRD will not work, its a matter in inconvenience.

I seem to remember a thread that summarized that OEM, Toyota, is “different”. Even if the core manufacturer is the same. No idea but if Toyota parts are not too much more in cost, I’ll get them.

I’d focus on why you get such poor MPG. I have the non-hybrid. 24.3 mpg mixed driving, mostly in city. 26 highway. When I fill up at Costco, the range is showing 400 plus or minus 3 each time.

My “mod” was not to add anything and keep the vehicle in original spec to get the best value for money now and at resale.

I have one. I got tge front done with film but they wanted $600 more for the hood. In am very happy with it.

I know, it's not a 4R but, I stonrgly think the advice given is appropriate. I know this will not sit well with the folk spending $xxxx on mods or the sponsoring vendors but still, its a very valid point of view.

Yet another Rookie error by Toyota. It really does seem they rushed this vehicle out. I suggest that the quality of Japanese built vehicles has dropped.

SR5, 9k miles. Getting consistent 24.3. 26+ on longer flat highway runs. Worst case when running around town, 23.4.

Larger tires increase load on all drive component. As would lift, etc. Your call, mess with it and take the financial responsibility to own problems.
