Was driving me crazy today as I was driving in overcast conditions. Every time we went under an overpass the map on the screen would flip to dark and the gauge cluster would dim and then once we were back out on the other side it would flip back to light mode. They have the trigger for that set...
Coming from a similarly aged Ford Escape as well and I also don’t see any problem with the ride quality. Could it be better? I’m sure there is some metric where it could be improved. But to me it drives like something you’d expect from a truck and as it did during all the test drives.
I get...
Dealer warned us about this when we picked up my 4Runner last week. Said it was something they use to preserve the trucks for the boat ride over and that the smell would fade relatively quick. Took a couple of days, but the smell is gone now. I am at 180 miles on the odometer for what it’s worth.
Almost positive it was just some kind of service issue with the app / Toyota’s web services. Seems to have affected a lot of us for a few hours (me included). Going to the dealer with that kind of problem would be a waste of your time.
Color choices are subjective, so you should go with the one you like best. i personally don’t like lighter colors, so the silver would be out for me.
How much do you think the door panels would run to replace? I’m looking at a TRD Sport Premium and would like the soft touch on the top of the door as well. Is that something that is easily bought through Toyota Parts?
How significant of a redesign would it take to the brake assembly in order to eliminate this in future year models? Seems like this has been present in Tacomas and Tundras as well with no fix, so I’m guessing this isn’t something we should hold our breath on.
I am legitimately asking here because I don't know....for something that goes through an assembly line like this with mass manufactured parts, how do you end up with a geometry problem that isn't universal among owners?
Toyota has artifically limited inventory for years at this point, that's why there isn't a ton of inventory sitting on the lots.
But I do agree, they aren't going to eat the tariffs fully for the next 3+ years. At some point those prices are going to start getting baked in even more in the...
Conventional wisdom has often been to skip year one of a new refresh of a vehicle. For everyone who has decided to go against this to purchase a 2025 year model of the new 4Runner, what made you decide to go against that prevailing wisdom? Have you run into any strange first gen issues? Has...
