So far I'm absoultely loving this rig! I'm on a 1200 mile trip from TX to NC and the only issues I can find are with the front wipers:

First, does anyone else agree that they are kinda loud? I feel like the motors are way louder than they should be for a 2025 car. Maybe take it in for warranty request?

Second, do we really not get auto wipers on this truck? Or is there some secret way to enable them that I'm not seeing lol?

Thanks y'all

Yes, it's loud and I wish, but don't think the have the auto feature. Even my work vans have auto wipers.

I’ve not noticed them being loud, this is the 3rd 4Runner I’ve owned and I think they were all the same. Auto wipers I miss- it only takes having one vehicle with them to make it a must have, lol.

Yeah wow it’s so interesting to see what they cut costs on nowadays. Maybe I’ll retrofit it one day lol

With all of the sensors and safety features they put in all of the trims, I’m surprised they skipped on rain sensing wipers (seriously, it’ll display speed limit signs, stop signs, pedestrian crossing signs, but no rain sensing wipers). I’ve been living with them for the better part of 10 years in all my vehicles and now the newest vehicle I’ve purchased doesn’t have them, and a “top trim” at that ? . Oh well, I guess they wanted to have a few old school touches, along with the horn.

Also, I can’t hear my front wipers at all, they are very quiet. Happy with them, aside from lack of rain sensing.

I just say “Hey Toyota, turn on my wipers.” As for the sound, ours are quiet.

The wipers IMO aren’t loud but they are far from silent. I have never had the need to an auto wiper soooo

the harder is rains, the less i use my wipers. the advantage of windshield coating :)

and using rain-x windshield wiper tank fluid in conjunction

My wiper motor is getting squeakier... I'm at about 1700 miles and it's definitely rainly season here in the PNW.

Anyone seen a dealer about this?

quite loud and disappointed that there no auto sensing wipers even on the TRD PRO.

what's even more annoying is that the shortest intermittent setting is 2 seconds - and here in the PNW constant showers is too much for 2-secs and not enough for low constant-on.

My wiper motor is very loud. It's so annoying that I just put it on intermittent and try using it as little as possible. My wife who normally drives the 4Runner said she just tuned it out, but for me, it's very annoying. Will be mentioning it on my first service.

My Rav4 actually has more features than the 4Runner. It has the auto wipers and dual zone climate.

but the rav4 and the 4R are different use items. rav4 is a around town run about vs an off road centric vehicle.

if you get into the non luxury trims of the 4runner, you are expecting more features geared toward off roading than luxury. you can get the same features as your rav4 if you jump into the limited/platinum trims to equal the xse/limited versions of the rav4.

for me its more about the capability of the 4runner as my first priority. 2nd priority was luxury/creature comforts.

hence i went with a platinum, i dont need the capability the TRD trims give you since i dont do off roading as my primary concern.

if you take off the off road capability of the 4runner, you replace those features with more luxury/creature comforts.

so its a trade off

and if you want to take it to another level, a step down would be a camry, less capability than a rav4 but even more luxury/creature comforts

so it all relative on what you are expecting a vehicle to do for you

Rain-sensing auto wipers and dual-climate are our top two misses with our ORP.

Our wiper motor is loud. Sort of a grinding drone sound with each pass. Sounds like something from the 70's.

I don't really miss the rain sensing wipers. My last car was a 2021 Explorer and I didn't like them. It worked very well below about 30 mph. Above that they would wiper speed was far too high for the speed of the car, even with somewhat light mist or rain.
