In general. People complain to complain. I am not talking about you specifically. If you have a problem. Take the vehicle to Toyota.
I think the whole point of this thread is that some of us are concerned that there might be an issue with a part of our vehicle and before waisting a trip to the dealership, we check on this group (meant for that purpose) to see if other people are experiencing the same thing. Stop waisting your time (and ours) on a thread that doesn't concern you with your useless comment.

In my opinion based on what you said it can’t be that big of an issue if you’re not going to the dealership or you’ve gotta think about it. It’s not a big deal.

Secondly. Toyota have replaced the wipers and I believe the motor on a few folks.

My wipers are near silent. People are having a problem or an irritation and you're on the internet doing whatever this ^^^ thing you're doing is. The entire point here is to connect with like-minds and find out if it's normal or not before spending an entire day dealing with a dealeship. It clearly isn't normal, you even say that some have been replaced. And you're shitting on the question.

+1 about the noise. I was up in Oregon for a month during the atmospheric river in December and the wipers are quite a bit louder than my last 4Runner, a 2012 Gen 5 Trail sold at 180,000 miles. Even in the terrible downpours, it was louder than the rain. That's the only criticism I can think of after 12,000 miles driven, the Gen 6 Hybrid is superb. I love that the only issue is noisy wipers. I live in SoCal, so the situation isn't likely to come up often.

Thanks, good to hear confirmation of it in your Pro.

And yeah, I crank the music to hide it, and just started noticing the brake pedal vibrating when there's too much bass. There's always something..
I also have a Pro and I don’t hear anything. But again, it’s not gonna be every trim level and every vehicle in general. If the noise bothers anyone. I’d take it to the Dealership. If they deem it a problem it’ll be handled.

It seems fair to say that the people with the higher trims get less noise. Maybe the Limited, Pro, etc have a better part or it’s better front glass/insulation.

But generally a noisy wiper motor sounds “normal” for the 6g part in use. Which is consistent with the valves, turbo, etc… all noisy. Everything except the horn. That sounds like someone sat on a Labradors squeaky toy.

For those that don’t experience it… the wiper sounds like… “wee-wuhhh-wah-weee—” <repeat>. I hope that helps. And…. Kidding 🤣

Video/audio for context.
Again, imho this is normal. Just thought folks may want to hear it.

Yeah, that seems significantly louder than mine. I just went out and dry ran them without rain or the engine running, and it was quieter than that. If it weren't for this thread, I'd have not thought twice about the sound they make. Road noise at 30 miles an hour, or rain noise at all, will cover the sound of my wiper motors.

I also didn’t think about it much before the thread. It’s considerably louder than all my other cars… but not a problem from my POV. I just tell myself: “that’s what reliability sounds like” 😅

Had mine since May and my thought from day 1 was "dang these wipers are crazy loud" and it's been my biggest complaint (hey what can I say I like to complain). I live in the Pacific NW, so it rains a lot. Most guests who ride in the vehicle comment on how loud the wipers are too. But I just shrugged my shoulders and chalked it up to a first year design flaw. I'd rather loud and reliable than quiet and crap (like my previous car a 2012 Audi Q7 that I had to replace the wiper motor on after only 100,000k kms.)

Am super surprised to hear people on this post say their wipers are silent! Never thought it might not be normal. Man...unless there's a TSB, my dealer will not do anything. But thanks to this super helpful thread, now I know it's not normal and can hopefully get it resolved.
