I’m just going to add that unlike passenger cars, the batteries in the 4Runner are inside the fully boxed steel frame, so even in a rear end collision there should be less of a chance they would rupture just because of the way 4Runners are built vs unibody cars.
I owned a 2021 TRD ORP for 2 years and while there was no doubt it was durable it didn’t feel any different or better than my 2007- because it wasn’t, lol. Actually in some ways I preferred my 4th gen! For the record my son inherited my 4th and it’s still cruising along almost 20 years later...
I live in the PNW, so I've had the chance to experience this quite often in the last 11 months of ownership. I find that it's worst when you slow down -- which causes the water to move forward and then blow back. If you go fast, the water follows those channels towards the back of the hood and...
It’s funny how some people find the seats comfortable and others have issues. I’m 6’6’” and I haven’t had any issues in the 10k miles I’ve had my 6th gen- but I had issues with my 5th gen 🤷🏻
I am running the Cooper R+T in 255/75/17 and I have been really impressed so far. Gas milage is down slightly, but really not bad. I've had them since April, no snow -- but they've handled the beach and some mid-moderate trails really well. Wet traction also seems really good, but that will...
There’s only a few 6th gens in my city, and the other Heritage Blue one I’ve seen is a TRD OR. There’s also a white TRD OR and one Red that I didn’t see the model. That said, there are a ton of 5th gens and Tacomas, so people are probably just happy with what they’ve got.
I honestly didn’t even notice it until it started to peel off. My dealer didn’t hesitate to replace it, which is nice. Actually my dealership has never given me any issues so I’m not surprised. As soon as they get the parts to fix my brakes they’ve already said they would do those as well.
It mattered to me. The fact that the Tacoma isn’t, swayed me even further (I’ve owned 3 4R and 1 Taco) when I was deciding on going back to a Tacoma.
I’m just psyched there’s another person here who picked up their 4Runner in Olympia! My local dealer as well. I also had a 5th generation and did a lot of the same modifications that you did. But, it was the fuel mileage that always disappointed me. I’m over 5k miles and really the only...
I’ll say in my case since I was already there, they just had one of the techs put it in reverse. I gave them the TSB number and it was as simple as that.
