Has anyone had the TSB completed for the squealing front brakes in reverse? My local dealer ordered parts in December and I haven’t heard anything yet. They say the parts are still on order.

I am waiting too. Only took it in a month ago but, told minimum 4 month wait. Not good customer service by Toyota (again).

I waited 3 months for it. Dealer had to change them on most newer Toyota models, not just 4Runner.

No more squealing after the fix.

Took me many months of waiting. My dealer said because so many Toyotas are waiting on these they were only allowed to order one warranty set a week and there was a long line of vehicles waiting.

Did the dealer have to verify the squeal for you all before they agreed to order the parts under the TSB? Mine wants to verify it (which is outlined in the TSB) before they will go ahead and order it. My ORP just does it in the morning when pulling out of the driveway so the service tech isn’t going to hear it.

In my case, yes. When I brought this issue up when I took mine in for service at the end of May. The service technician said that they had to verify it. It was verified, parts ordered. Was told there was nation-wide parts shortage. So I am patiently waiting.

Im in Houston and had the TSB for brakes done in May while i took it in for a oil change. They just swap out pads and shims. They had the brakes fixed and oil changed in 1 1/2 hrs.
I see some of yall are in Alaska and Washington which makes sense yall would have supply issues.

If it does it in the morning in reverse only it will only get worse. Take it in and let them basically put it in reverse and back up 3-4 times they will change the pads.

Thats not on toyota thats most likely on your state and dealer.... Im in Houston literally just called a dealership and asked about the TSB for 4runners brakes in reverse. Was told bring it in and we will confirm and start the service...I asked about parts and he said they have the pads in stock...
I had my brake pads replaced at the end of May at the dealer i just called....so the supply issue is regional it seems.
I took my 4runner in for 10k service and they replaced pads at same time the easiest time I've ever had dealing with a service bulletin by any dealer and car maker. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE BY TOYOTA FOR ME 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I had to leave mine with the dealer for the day to verify the issue before they would do anything. It's a well known issue across multiple Toyotas (I was told Land Cruisers are by far the most common) and my dealer knew exactly what to listen for and when it usually happened. If you have a video you record of it on your phone that can likely only help.

Because the issue most often happens in the morning when there's more moisture in the air, I squirted some water on my brake pads when dropping the 4Runner off at the dealer to "help things along" since it was after morning already. :)

did mine at 3k. They had the parts on stock when I was doing an early oil change. There was no diagnosis… they just did it. It took 45min. Haven’t heard the squeal since (5k miles later).
