Another vote for Griots 3 in 1, easy to apply and lasts about 8 months here. I like the Meguiers hybrid ceramic as well, but find itās more difficult to remove without high spots/streaks.
My only regret is that life circumstances forced me to get my 6th gen right when they came out, and I'm one of those people who's had a lot of small quality issues to deal with as a result. Rattles, squeals, and the elusive front left chirping sound no one can diagnose but annoys me daily. I...
For the longer trips I occasionally do that require more fuel I use the Seesucker rotopax mounts on the rear side windows. Works great and easy to take off when not needed.
Based on some other posts here about it, the cricket noise when accelerating is the high pressure fuel pump and is normal. Itās on the passenger side with the gas tank if that helps you narrow down the location to confirm.
My dealer asked me to drop the 4Runner off with them for the day so it could be parked for a few hours before they tried to observe the noise. Somebody may have squirted water all over the calipers and pads with a water bottle before they dropped it off at the dealership. Just to simulate...
Most dealerships are going to want to hear it for themselves, and thatās all you need to do. Mentioning the TSB if they canāt verify the issue doesnāt mean anything Iām afraid, itās not like a safety recall.
Just put the bolts back in, it takes two minutes to remove them and the air dam and 2 more minutes to put the bolts back in. I did mine in the parking lot at the dealer before driving off, didn't even take long enough for my wife to ask what I was doing.
I've had neighbors tell me they could hear it when I drove past on really hot days last summer. I don't have the air dam on my 4R, so it's not that. I'm 100% sure it's not some kind of wind noise, it has a very metallic quality to that sounds more like a bad bearing or belt pulley. And it...
Does your dealer even admit to hearing it? The service manager at mine keeps insisting they don't hear it, even when they are driving and it's plain as day to me sitting next to them.

Good blend of hands on controls with modern electronics and functionality.
It really is a go anywhere kind of vehicle for me, from looking nice around town to letting me explore anywhere in the backcountry.
I personally like the stiffer handing compared to my 22 Tacoma, maybe not as good...
