I thought the DEK was super well built. Basically the best OE style option out there. Looks great. Love the light bar.

Mine didn’t do it till about 2k miles. Then stopped again around 7k miles. Or… I stopped noticing. My motto with this truck is: “that’s what durability sounds like”

The Dek looks awesome. I had the crossbar mount on mine and the wind noise was intense because it sat up so high. This direct mount looks like it 100% solves that. How was the setup? Curious how you sealed the direct mount points or if drilling was required for the front foot?

My SR5 sounds identical to this. my understanding was that the TSB on tacomas was for a hard chirp when the Ac engages. I am guessing that the consensus is that this is normal. For what it’s worth, in my SR5 it is by far most pronounced when the temperature AND fan are set to their lowest...

did mine at 3k. They had the parts on stock when I was doing an early oil change. There was no diagnosis… they just did it. It took 45min. Haven’t heard the squeal since (5k miles later).

I keep waiting for a SR5 offraoding test to pop on YouTube… one day… on day.

Are you in eco mode?

Has anyone else noticed that ECO mode does NOT do this?

I’ve not heard of anyone fixing this… only some folks being more or lyes annoyed by it.

Each build is different. Then port options. I think 4k off msrp on a SR5 is a reasonable expectation to target. Basically what I got 6mo back.

I’ve never noticed anything much more than “warm”. I have the oem insulation. And, I have not noticed a remarkable surface temp difference.

In my SR5 it’s a single press on and off with no brake for accessory mode.

I also have the weather tech in my SR5 7 seater… my only complaint is that it does slide/shift a bit and get in the way of the tailgate occasionally.

FWIW, I have been watching and no one has mentioned it with this setup. Only the non-OE setups.

I did a 800 mile road trip at 500 miles or so. I kept my speed 65 (which is only like 2k rpm) or less. I varied me speed here and there for passing and breaks. Ď Then… I read a thread like this and couldn’t decide if I made a mistake or… it’s a Toyota. What’s done is done. 🤞

After the TSB… I never had an issue.
