The harder type shift will go away, mines all smooth now at 4k miles.
It may go away or it may not. Mine still does it at 10,500 miles. One single slightly-hard shift between first and second and then it won't do it again until the next morning.

I also have the clunky shifting feeling mentioned a couple of times in this thread while semi-hard braking. Not hard-hard braking, but slightly harder than normal. It feels like a combination of engine braking and downshifting, the hybrid clutch engaging to recharge the hybrid battery, followed by the engine cutting off. It feels like they attempted to program all these processes to make it feel like a smooth and normal braking experience but missed the mark. I'm betting this is something that non-hybrid owners aren't experiencing because I'm thinking it mostly has to do with the hybrid clutch engaging to recharge the battery.

Nice to see this thread is back. I had/have this same issue. Asked the dealer to address it, and they told me they couldn't replicate it. Hasn't really been a problem past being a very minor annoyance, but something tells me this is fairly normal.
How many miles in yours now?

My '25 ORP doesn't do it anymore. It's definitely did at when just had 100 miles on it. Don't know if the car learned or I learned to accelerate different on the first trip in the morning or both. It was always only on the first trip of the day in the morning, never did it accelerating from traffic light stops or road stops after going.

Tried something different today. When I left for work in the morning, I accelerated hard instead of taking off smooth and didn't have the hard shift from 1st to 2nd.

The transmission didn't learn but it made the owner learned! 🙂

4500 miles. I feel like it’s more noticeable now. I haven’t heard anyone calling out a resolution other than waiting it out.

I may try going back to regular vs premium even though that makes no sense.

8k Miles still noticeable not just when cold 2 - 1 down shift is noticeable up shifts aren't smooth at all. My wife looks at me and asks if that's normal. No idea as all my other previous cars have been Mercedes. Will mention it again at next service as the first time i mentioned this they said its normal.

If it feels noticeably not normal, sounds like you have a problem. My '25 ORP feels smooth.
