Update… took it in and and dealer couldn't replicate the issue…

i don't think they truly waited for it to fully cool down… they did a memory reset and thats about it..

will monitor if the issue persists

Mine happens in the morning while it has cooled down over night. You might have to drop it off over night so they can replicate it in the morning.

I have a TRD Off-Road Premium Hybrid, and I’ve noticed a few issues. When I start the car in the morning and shift into drive, it jerks forward unexpectedly. Another concern is when I’m at a complete stop—like at a red light—and press the gas, the car feels hesitant to respond. It also seems like the car is shaking slightly during that initial acceleration, but once it goes above 1,000 RPM, everything returns to normal. Is this typical behavior for the hybrid system? The transition from 0 to 1,000 RPM, especially in first gear, just feels a bit off.

I have some weird shifting from 2-1 mostly when braking when I am braking and it’s getting into 1st I feel like the engine brakes also and it’s making it feel like I am pushing harder on the brakes than I actually am. I don’t have that PDA on. Could just be me also and not being used to new type of transmission from 5th gen
Exact same thing on my 2025 Land Cruiser with the same powertrain. 3800 miles and still is jerky when braking/downshifting. Also experiencing high tranny temps well above 220F all the way to 250F on slow climbs as other 4runners, Tacomas and LC's have reported.
