Door Seal Rubber Edge Trim - cheap mod to reduce wind / air noise

I don't know why they stopped installing this on vehicles, but you'll still find it on Lexus and other higher end car. It was a simple install that only took a few minutes. There is a noticable exterior sound dampening differece with wind/air noise. Totol cost of the mod was $11.99 on Amazon. 2 pc 2.62 Ft is all you'll need. You will have to trim a few inches off. Start from the top of the door and install moving downward. Note- the link below says "does not fit 2025-2026 4Runner". But it worked perfectly. Link for Amazon below photo

I seem to notice wind noise near the A-pillar. Have you tried this there ?

It's probably worth a shot for 12 bucks. I was imagining what could be making the b pillar wind noise earlier today and it's either where the OEM roof rack starts or the unsealed gap in the top corners where the doors meet.

I followed advice, while not dramatic it does make a difference, gasket is also a perfect fit, just trim almost 3". Thanks for this great tip!

Doesn't water drain out down and out of that channel from the top of the door?

Yes, it’s just a wind noise reducer, I’m sure some road sound too but it’s a small gap between the doors.

The seal clips onto the pinch weld like part of the rear door. Wont affect any type of drain. Go take a look.

I want to order this seal, but the picture shows it on the leading edge of a sliding side door on a van. Any pictures with this seal installed on your SR5 FloridaPhotog?

It would install exactly the same way on your rear door.

Push it on the groove and cut the excess off the bottom.

They included a photo in their first post. The seal is the rubber on the leading edge of the rear door in the photo.

Just did the door seal as soon as it stops raining I’m off to check it out. Also upgraded my horn to Toyota premium found on Amazon, sounds much better
