  2. Front & Rear Differential Fluid Changed / Serviced (2026 4Runner 6th Gen)

I agree ! I like to take care of my vehicles. Even though I can no longer dabble in the heavy mechanic stuff any more. I find working on my vehicle to be therapy. When I’m not messing around in the garage, you’ll find me fishing for tarpon or snook. So if it’s what you like to do, do it!
  3. Front & Rear Differential Fluid Changed / Serviced (2026 4Runner 6th Gen)

I think it's more important to do it between 5-10k just to get rid of the metal particles from the break in, that's just my opinion.
  4. Spyder Joint + Slip Yoke Question

With an NGL#2 grease with moly being recommended for the drive shaft slip yoke. Would you consider Liqui Moly 3520 LM 47 Long-Life Grease +MoS2 grease a high-quality useable grease? What would you recommend for the spyder joints? I realize a NGL2 Lithium grease is what Toyota calls for. Link...
  5. Front & Rear Differential Fluid Changed / Serviced (2026 4Runner 6th Gen)

The transfer calls for 75W. The dealership I talked with said they put the same weight in all three holes. That being said my research found that the transfer case calls for GL-4 and stated that GL-5 has some reacton with yellow metals. However, some say modern GL-5 won't harm yellow...
  6. Front & Rear Differential Fluid Changed / Serviced (2026 4Runner 6th Gen)

Drained and refilled the front and rear differential on the 4Runner today, it had 5529 miles on it. I decided to not use OEW gear oil and opted for Amsoil 75W85. I was shocked on much fine metal was on the magnetic drain for the rear differential. The gear oil was dark black. The front probably...

I asked my dealership here in Florida yesterday. It was $199 per differential. They also said they use 75w90 , so we know it isn’t Toyota branded.
  11. 2k Oil Change with ValvoMax drain plug

I purchased the M12 1.25. I’ve done all my oil changes except the one done just under 500 miles. The dealership did that one. I didn’t try the blue OEM crush washer. I always keep a handful around. The reason I didn’t do it, is I already had lost 2 QTs of Mobile 1 0w20 with each...
