True. I installed all 4 of them where the frame supports are so they couldn't rotate in a way they would come in contact with the rocker if they rotated. It also worked as a good way to keep it symetrical.
The 15 year old kid in me loves the snorkel sounds! Sometime I find myself keeping the windows down just so I can hear it!
Has anyone converted it to look more like a traditional snorkel? That may keep it more quiet.
I did the same thing and love them plus my kids and wife appreciate it! Another alternative was the etsy ones that clip on. This solution didn't impact clearance. ZR Overland was great to deal with. I had an issue with 1 of the bolts(my fault) and they were quick to resolve my problem!
Installed a Joy Tutus dash mount from Amazon. Feels real solid.
Probably won’t use the phone mount it came with but arm was all metal. Just too big for my use.
Hello! Thanks for sharing this. I actually have my ham and GMRS licenses but still contemplating CB. Your install looks real slick. How hard was it to fish the antenna with the pl259 through the firewall?
I have my GMRS license and really never hear ANYTHING plus I have my tech license and just hear the same crew all-day, every-day! Thats why I was thinking of going back to CB... Works in close range and get the rowdy truckers on the road.
I figured it they were tightly installed in those indents it wouldn't look as goofy as a bar installed mid-roof. Technically, i don't need a ligthbar up there anyway but I am not sure of the purpose of the indented flat spots.
Yeah, I am curious how that will look and work. There are the 2 indents that look like something should be mounted in but no predrilled holes. I would think maybe 2 low profile pods but not a lightbar so I am open to ideas!
Has anyone put a Midland 75-822 in yet? I had one in my old truck with a FireStik on my roof basket to a 12v in the center console. Really clean and out of the way. The 4runner has the 12v by the shifter and was even thinking of using a weak through the glass antenna but I am not sure if...
