Yes the d4s system does have port and dfi but the port only helps reduce the build up, it doesn't eliminate it entirely. So instead of gummed up valves at 40k its more likely to hold off till 100k for example. But i agree with you they have other benefits and also interested in vicenzo's question

Nice these things are even more important now with direct injection engines to help keep buildup off the valves
