The best way I can describe the noise is 'unsettled plastic' - which might very well be what it is. The creaking significantly reduces if I adjust the back of my seat so I suspect it's something in the servos/motors that's causing the noise.
Even after adjusting though the sound will come back...
Hmm I'll give that a try as well. It's just hard to replicate for a video since you can only really here it when someone sits in the seat with their full body weight.
Perhaps this is life telling me to lose some weight 😂
Yeah makes sense. I did my best to minimize any sound from the leather so I can say that the majority of the noise you're hearing in this video is from the seat itself and NOT the material rubbing against each other.
Hey Folks - For those that have a Limited/Platinum trim, or if your trim has power seating.. does your seat 'creak' and make cracking noises from time to time ?
I've noticed this will happen whenever it's quiet inside the cabin and I'm adjusting my seating or my body weight is shifting as I...
Feels like it'd be a lot of effort tho. At which point I'm more concerned about people around me potentially seeing it and getting into a number of unfavorable scenarios then 😅
For context the Northeast is generally .. less pew pew friendly lol
Thank you for the detailed description and pictures! I think you've helped a ton of people here that were looking at the console vault, including myself.
I guess this ain't an option for me since I carry a red dot and light..
I would ask them if it fits your 19 with the red dot and flashlight attached on there. If you don't have one great, but I'd imagine most carriers these days have them on their platforms.
Also have you tried raising the seats up heightwise and sliding in the lockbox from the back of the...
Definitely let us know how it goes/fits! Very interested in one myself for the same reasons you listed. Very good idea, just not sure about actual application
Dumb question for you given that you're a gun owner and all I'd imagine. What's your take on not having a full "locking" mechanism like Stopbox? I understand the audience for it, but I'm from a state that's very not gun friendly so the general best practice for us is to always lock it up in some...
I personally haven't tried one, but if the dimensions are similar to the Vaultek I'd imagine you can use it no problem. The higher you put the passenger side seat, the more height you have to stow
Update - ordered myself a lifepod 1.0 and found that it will fit under the seat of a limited trim if you adjust the seat height up. But only from the back
Thank you and @Nodak for your answers!
TBH same to all of the issues that were listed. I've become more wary of this over the years and have tried to avoid driving at night recently. Though I still go for a nice cruise with the GTI every now and then.
Ohhhh interesting! I just realized that you went from 275 to 265. That makes a lot of sense. I was thinking of moving from 265 to something larger, but after seeing your build I'm not entirely sure if that'd be necessary
