Rival4x4 is great. I just did an oil change through it. Don’t forget to place a Fumoto valve instead of the drain plug. Your life will get 100 times easier while changing your oil.
On and off I get rattles from the rear window. Rattles and occasionally pops. Sometimes there are none. Sometimes gets annoying. I will take it to the dealership. Not sure they’ll have a clue though.
Toyota parts.com through my local dealer run discounts every holiday. A six quart box of oil comes to $26 and the filter is like $4-5. So for $30 one gets OEM oil change, and I personally like to do it every 3k miles.
This is not made to be a race car. However, it has a punchy and strong engine with plenty of torque. The only downside is that it is noisy and unrefined. But for an off-roader it is perfect, and will outlive many Jeeps and Broncos…
The Land Cruiser 250 sold around the world has the 2.8 turbo diesel. It is great, high torque engine. I guess Toyota put together the hybrid version to make it feel close to it. However didn’t think too much about this battery….
For acceleration the Bronco with the 2.7 V6 turbo is possibly the fastest of the bunch. Not sure about its reliability though. Personally the gas only 4Runner is all I need from an off roader and am completely happy with it.
Toyota makes good unibody hybrids, but no body on frame trucks with good hybrid solutions. Look at the absurd placement of the battery in the North American Land Cruiser and the hybrid 4Runner. If this was an original design, the battery should have been placed elsewhere. But as I said above...
