Just installed a group 27 agm battery yesterday it fit with the stock clap downs I just had to add a 3/4 on the strap and 2 - 1/2 inch rubber bushings as spacers on the battery tray. The bolts are long enough to work but I will get longer ones soon just in case.

@Djshush, did you have to do any kind of calibration switching from flooded to AGM?

Thought I saw a video on you tube that required doing a calibration of some sort.

This video is what I was referring to.

Flooded to AGM
I’m adding a 300 amp alternator soon and the overland Torque tune has an option to adjust the voltage to 14.8. I have always had high end car audio and accessories that need more power. If you off road a lot I seen rigs with multiple and bigger agm batteries.

That’s unfortunate I’ve had these last just at long as regular batteries. But I also run 300 amp alternators and get it tuned to charge at 14.8. I have always ran high end car audio and have had accessories that need more power. For regular use it is overkill. I have seen overland rigs with 2-3 bigger AGMs than these.

What was your purpose for upgrading, did you have any issues with the stock battery?
No issues at all. I kind of felt silly giving the battery as a core charge being so new. But I run a lot of car audio and need the extra power. I’m adding a 300 amp alternator soon and tuning it to charge to 14.8 volts. A lot of overland rigs with winches and accessories that demand high power use AGM batteries they sometimes run multiples. I will have a lithium secondary battery in the back.

The AGM battery in my 2017 3 series was original to the car when I sold it in April of this year.

Survived Texas summers, Colorado winters.

AGM is better than flooded, all else being equal.

In both my last 2 5th gen 4Runners I swapped out the alt-s fuse for a GM diode fuse that cost 10 bucks. This bumped up the voltage. It Would be cool if it worked in the 6th gen. I have a spare fuse but someone else can experiment because I’m not lol.
