There was also an article on this. I think the video makes sense.
I will probably switch to synthetic 5W-30 on my next oil change. Better for engine wear.
You got a great deal.! No taxes for you is even better. I cannot replicate your deal. Cheapest I can get it is just under $150.
ii would have already purchased it if I didn't already spend $50ish (regular price) for the oem black overlay, my first mod.
This might work for awhile but it will not last without a healthy hybrid battery.
From driving my car for more than 10 years, it will not be operational for long.
Just my experience and sharing with others. Thanks.
@Stigma, are you surre? From what I know, the system shuts down. Again, my 2 cents.
If that's the case, I can save myself $$$. I'm sure the mpg is shot at that point.
My 2 cents. My daily driver is a 2013 Toyota Prius Persona Edition.
Still running with its original Hybrid Battery. The Prii has over 260k miles (2nd engine) , modified mated 3rd/4th Gen, aka. "my Frankenstein engine".
I Can definitely tell that the hybrid battery has degraded. I will have...
@JBaughman, are those the oem mudflaps? If so, you have no problems at all with the bigger tires, even with the wheels at a full turn like making a U-turn? No rubbing against the mud flaps?
I always wanted bigger tires that still fit with the oem mudflaps without a lift Kit.

@watchbuzz , Like the setup. When you get a chance, Can you send me the exact adapters and exact Kuat Dek model you mounted on your truck ? Looks great! Hoping it's still discounted for Balck Friday . Cyber Monday!
@watchbuzz , looks great. I want to keep my existing oem rails and oem Crossbars.
Did the KUat Dek mount right on the oem rails and crossbars?
if so, can you post the link of the one you purchased? I like the look without taking out what was sold with the Runner!
Let us know! thanks for...
Got mine yesterday and done. Here you go.
Red Tow Hooks Install
Install OEM bolts and tighten down evenly.
Torque = 87Nm (64ft/lbs)
Happy Modding! Enjoy!
Looks great! Did you have to drop the spare tire to remove the oem ?
did you use the original bolt or what came with it? Also did you use any of the spacers that came with the aftermarket hook?
Glad I found this thread. My local dealership offered a very well discounted oil and filter change if I brought my Runner in before the end of the month.
I couldn't pass it up after reading this! It's there now for its first oil change.
Hoping to keep this Runner for many miles to come.
