All Trailhunter Skid Plates install on TRD Off-Road: Front Bash Plate, Diff Skid, Transmission Skid Plate

Anybody know the specs on the Toyota OEM transfer case skid plate PT228-35248? Specifically, material (aluminum vs steel), and weight? No useful info with the Toyota Parts Online listing, and I have not found any elsewhere either.

All Trailhunter skid plates are steel. The TRD skidplate is aluminum.

Do you know the weight of these plates? & since the Trailhunter skid plate does not have any openings for oil, filter change or trans oil change is it easy to remove and replace these for fluid changes? I ask cause I'm looking for decent skid plates for my 2025 4runner t rd.

I don’t know if this helps you but I have the TRD skid plate on my Sport premium. I was able to remove it easily by myself with the truck on ramps. Two of the bolt holes are slotted so you can loosen two bolts, remove the other two. Then you can just slide the skid plate over. Make sense?

Is there a steel and aluminum version?

I keep seeing PT228-35244 and PT228-35248.
They seem to be the same one but it only mentions Taco

Toyota part website says the PT228-35248 fits a non hybrid TRD OR. Double check with your trim level. I assume its steel to be similar to the trailhunter front skid plate but could be wrong
