I’m a couple weeks in, 490 miles on my PRO, no brake issues at all. Not sure if this issue is widespread. How widespread is this issue and how soon after delivery did it start for others? I'm supposed to pickup my 4Runner on Tuesday morning and honestly I'm having some pause with this issue. I have zero desire to be dealing with a squeal that the prescribed fix doesn't actually fix.
it’s mixed as far as how severe and who gets it. Mine is horrible. It’s so loud I don’t even bother driving it in the morning. The tsb gave me like a day of silence and then a light squeal (which I would have gladely lived with) and then just now sounds like poo again. How widespread is this issue and how soon after delivery did it start for others? the tsb doesn’t fix it. It’s almost has if Toyota didn’t do any testing before hand and just throw some parts at it hoping we would all go away. I mean clearly all of us who have the noise it’s come back fairly quickly so it’s not like they couldn’t test it before hand. Instead we are the test dummies and we get to waste our time going back and forth to the dealership. Mine has been to the dealer ship 5 times since March about this issue and two of those times were overnight. The screeching noise is back after a temporary fix done on July 14. Took it back to the dealership today. I double checked they are aware of the TSB.
Do you have anything from the service on paper of what they did you can share? So, I had the TSB completed and the following morning the sound returned.
The dealer said yup, this is what we afraid of. So they took it in and did the old dirty Trick.
Now I have no issues at all. The TSB will not resolve the issue, however shave the side edge of the pads and you got a solution that works,
This has been done to the tundra, tacoma, and many other models they said.
