I trust people at the dealership, and I understand what is happening. However, this does not mean that I feel safe driving a vehicle with this situation. That noise is metal against metal, and nobody knows what could happen. I have an open case with Toyota. The case manager has been very...
Update: mechanics could not replicate the noise, so two days after, nothing was done. I sent Toyota two videos to include them on my case. I still have to hear from the case manager next week. I can’t believe that I wasted this third time and nothing could be done. Very disappointed!!
update on 1/12/26- took my vehicle to dealership. A Techcase was opened since they applied the TSB and the problems continues. Will drop the vehicle next Wednesday to have it inspected by Toyota engineers on Thursday. The soap opera continues... LOL
I agree with you! It was the first time the screeching noise returned. I remembered it was a very humid day, however, we have a 2021 4Runner in the house at it doesn’t screech at all. I won’t justify Toyota by agreeing to “humidity could make the brakes screech” argument because I have another...
Hope it all works out well! Mine is screeching free now!!😂. It has rained quite a lot these days, but all has been as it should have always been! Wishing you good luck!! Please keep us informed
The humid weather might contribute to some screeching, but not that loud as many of us have had. In my case, it has been raining for many days and it is gone! It seems like what they did worked. Fingers crossed!😂🙏🏻
After two times taking it to the dealership, the screeching sound is gone! It has rained a lot in Miami, but nothing!!🙏🏻🙏🏻. BTW, I posted the two receipts from the dealership with the work done
I recorded a video to show them the noise! You can either do it while you drive in reverse or someone else rescued it. It proved to be very effective!!
This is how it sounded this morning 😡😡. It started two weeks ago as very low noise, but today it went back to the way it was before July 14 when they did some work (not the TSB)
This has happened to me in my previous cars (RAV4 hybrid and Lexus NX250) I think it is a Toyota issue, or both Toyota and Apple when connecting wirelessly. I used to connect the phone at all times. Now the USB-C conector is located on the side of the center display, so I don’t do it that often...
A few years ago, my brother got a white 4Runner and had the same issue. It is present in many Toyotas painted in white. I don’t know if it is an issue now. See link: https://enginecrux.com/toyota-white-paint-problems-what-you-need-to-know/#Oxidation
White paint issues
That was the reason for my final decision! We have a 5Th gen at home, so I spent quite a bIt of time reviewing it. His review was the last one that had me convinced. No regrets!
