Hello everybody just a simple question : Why Toyota doesn't advertise about the 6th gen ?

I don't have TV but i saw nothing on internet, no ads, even on my official toyota car dealer's facebook page or website.

I saw ads about the new tacoma but not the new 4runner.

Any ideas ?

Have a good day all !

Probably because they are selling through all the inventory! Noticed that too - Tundra and Tacoma financing offer along with sedan sales.

Same reason there were almost zero 5th gen ads. They dont need to spend ad money on something they sell out of.

All five of our local Toyota dealers don't have any 4Runners in stock, that's most likely the reason.

It was the same when I bought my Gen 1 in 1986. They were highly sought after but rarely seen in the wild. People used to follow me into parking lots to ask about it. (That was before stalking was a big problem)

Who hasn't watched a you tube video with the 6th gen as the lead actor. I guess word of mouth advertising works better and cheaper for Toyota.

They do sell well, but with the 6th gen it really seems like how fast they sell depends on the region you’re in. Down in Texas, plenty of base SR5’s and TRD Offroads (non Premium) including iForce Max’s available on dealer lots. Everything TRD Off-road Premium and above sells out almost immediately. It’s clear that previous 4Runner owners are buying up the higher trims and know what they want. The lower trims that buyers claim they want are sitting at least in my area of the Country.

Yea I’ve noticed the same. Some dealers near me have increasing stock, probably all the QC overflow making its way in.

The only thing they have available is non premium package trims (off road, sport, SR5).

All the premium Sports and Off Roads sell almost immediately.

It makes sense though because at this price point the base model trims are a terrible deal. If you want a base model it should SR5. The other trims in the non-premium variants are a terrible deal.

dont worry every usa vehicle toyota sells comes with about a $700 marketing fee hidden in the cost of the vehicle.

most customers will not see the line item in the paperwork but its in the detailed printouts if you can get them from a dealer, it will only show up on the dealer invoice column and not the customer facing printout.

its called TDA (marketing)
