I took my 2025 Sport Premium in today for its 10,000 mile oil change and while I was there I asked about having the front air dam removed. The cost was going to be excessive at the dealership (no surprise) but the tech also said to me that if I did that "the fender liners aren't going to want to stay in place. You'll need to come up with a solution for that." It seems I've seen numerous posts from people who have removed it. Has that been a problem for anyone? I already have a low opinion about the honesty of my dealership.

I removed the dam on my Limited trim and have had no issues with the fender well liners.

You should ask the tech to show you which screw/bolt connects the fender liner along with the air dam. That way you can "try to look up a solution yourself" at home. Would be great to see what kinda BS he makes up then ;)

And just FYI none of the screws holding in the air dam are even CLOSE to the fender well liners. Dude is grindin hard for that stealership.

Time to find a new dealership.

Take a socket wrench and get under there man. Remove 9 bolts, remove dam, put bolts back in holes. Feel good you did something yourself. Find an issue later on, put the dam back on.
Duh. I forgot about putting the bolts back in the holes. I've got them in a bag. I'm going to put them back in today.

Prior to taking delivery back in June. I requested my sales guy to have the air dam removed & place it in the trunk. I still have it & sits in the basement. This was all done free no charge.

I have the same opinion opinion about my Toyota dealer. My 4Runner was at there service dept. for three weeks because it was damaged when they didn't torque down one of my wheels. They repeatedly said they would " make things right". But I caught them on a lie a couple times and now I no longer trust them.

Btw.... I've had my air dam off for 7,500 miles and I have not had any issue. I actually took a closer look when I was inspecting my vehicle after the work was finally completed and the liners were still lined up perfectly.

Just remove it yourself. Super easy and takes 5 minutes. Theres no part of that air dam that holds the liner in place.

Is it necessary to put the bolts back in or did you do it just to not lose track of them?
