So just some context. I considered going to Flynn's Tire for the tire dismount and remount onto the new wheels. Except, they tend to use 4 different jacks and lift the car and do their thing, which I'm not a big fan of. The cost would have been very similar and like most of us, we assume the...
They tried to cheap out and tried to say there was no damage to the hub & bearing assembly, thus not needing a replacement. But with what's happened, I want to make sure my 4Runner is safe to drive. I had to get Toyota Brand Engagement involved before they agreed to replace the hub & bearing...
Here is the list of parts the dealer will be replacing. Looks like they mark up replacement parts by an average of 30%. But I wouldn't be responsible for any of it.
I can't think of an easier install. Once you pop off the plastic cover, the horns are held in place by a single bolt. They are plug and play with plenty of slack in the wires. Should be done in no more than 10 minutes.
They didn't torque it down. The lug nuts started coming off 0.8 miles down the road. I slowed down and started pulling to the parking lot as soon as I heard weird noises . was lucky the wheel didn't come off on the road.
I would like to laugh about it. But I just can't get there. It went from and excitement and high about getting Pro rims mounted to a no 4Runner for a couple of weeks
I have a '26 ORP that is 1-1/2 months old and I've noticed the windshield wiper motors are loud. I mean, you don't hear it during heavy rain obviously, but with light rain and having it on intermittently, it's definitely noticeable.
I've installed Hella horns on my ORP. Absolutely love that now people will know when I'm pissed instead of people thinking it's a corolla honking at them.
I'd like to see someone compare Toyota Premium Horn vs Hella.
