Been kicking it around for a few months and finally decided to take the black grille emblem off and replace it with red. Once I had them off, I'm actually kinda diggin' the OEM silver ones and ran it like that for a month before installing the way over-priced Red set.

Now that I have the red set on I think it looks too ricey and may take them back off and run the OEM, if they weren't so expensive it'd be a no brainer for me but the wife likes the red but can live with the OEM.

Help me out. Which way do all you like better. Just a simple OEM or Red reply would be great.

I like it better with the red letters on your truck..

Although I wish there were a way to do the reverse for my truck, as in black insert with red outline around the letters to make it a little more subtle.

I like the red with your white - and other small pops of red (recovery points, TRD wheel caps?, etc?)
(And I had to look up ricer:>)
For my Heritage Blue I've now eliminated all the chrome so its all "black and blue"

I think the red looks great with the hooks and all. I don't dislike the silver either, though. I like both much better than the squished eggs emblem I have on the OR.

I wonder if either would fit on the OEM grille of the OR. Does anybody know? Never mind. Looks like a grille swap would be needed. I ain't doing that.

And I still don't know what ricer means. What the heck does a kitchen utensil have to do with this?

It is the Honda Civics you see with all the LED lights and every plastic add-on Auto Zone has with zero actual performance improvement. The ole, you want to think you look good standing next to your car versus actually having something worth driving.

You can get a black replacement for the silver toyota logo. Or even an illuminated black chrome one (which is what I did).
And since I owned up to having to look up "ricer" here is what the Google AI told me:
"A "ricer" (often an acronym for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements) is a car modified with aggressive aesthetic accessories—like massive wings, body kits, and loud exhausts—without corresponding performance upgrades. The modifications give the illusion of a high-performance vehicle, but the car remains mechanically stock or sometimes performs worse."

I think `ricer` may be the wrong term, maybe there's another term for the analogous effect among off-road/overland vehicle community.

Wife likes the red?

Keep the red. Not a hill worth fighting over.

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m not a fan of white cars. I have a red 4Runner.
