If you're only going to use a socket wrench (17 mm), you will have to lower the spare because there isn't room to fit the socket wrench without lowering the spare. But if you have just a normal wrench you can get it installed without lowering the spare. That's what I did, but most folks...
Thanks. Toyota of Tampa Bay was asking for a $10,000 mark up on their TRD Pro. No thank you. Congrats on your sweet ride. I'm in the Orlando area as well.
Congrats. Looks great. What dealer in Tampa did you get it from? I didn't have the best experience at Toyota of Tampa Bay when I was searching for a TRD Pro. Just curious.
Thanks. Good info on the crayons. :) I think I'll pass. I'm plenty happy with my 4Runner out of the box when I smash the gas pedal, especially in Sport mode. I don't want to mess with the warranty at all. Maybe I'll revisit the idea at 36,000 miles.
Alright, talk to me like I'm five years old and eating crayons because I know very little about this 'tuning'.
If these 'tunes' are so great and relatively simple to do (for the tuners) and they improve performance, then why doesn't Toyota just do this in the production phase?
Just ordered mine today as well ($92). Peer pressure from you guys. It will match the OEM red front tow hooks I got a few months ago. I freely admit that I'll most likely never use them, but they look cool! :)
These are the OEM black cast aluminum running boards. I installed them a few weeks ago. They don't drop down as far as the predator steps. Possibly what you are looking for. I like them.
That looks like a pretty good deal, especially for Florida. That's the lowest Doc fee I've ever seen in Florida. Usually the Doc fee is like $699-999. Well done!
How are you guys able to tell the difference between the '25's and 26's. Just by looking at the window sticker, right? There isn't any real visual difference between the two besides the Wave Maker color, right?
Just do what I do. Set up your gauge cluster so that you don't see the mpg. When it's empty, fill it back up. Don't worry about the mpg. You didn't get a TRD Pro for the mpg. You could've got a Rav4 for that. You'll be happier. One less thing to worry about.
Thank you. I honestly don't know the answer to your question. I think they're more for looks and getting in and out of your 4Runner. I doubt they would provide much true protection like rock sliders would. Probably better than nothing and definitely better than the predator steps, though.
