Honestly you would be surprised how well it works (Iām also surprised that I canāt find the technique on the YouTube), we were definitely stuck when we used the technique. But yes you do need to stop trying to drive out of it the moment you realize itās only going to get worse. There are manual...
So a long time ago I did a two day Land Rover off roading course out at The Biltmore in Asheville. We did a whole morning just on recovery and winching. Btw, if your are going to get a winch I really advise you to learn how to use it properly because it can actually be very dangerous.
The way...
Are there trees where youāre standing to take a pic?
If so a simple recovery rope kit with knowledge of how to use it should get you out of that.
As far as how to avoid it in the future ⦠if you are alone go check how deep the ditch is before trying to cross it and if you are unsure just donāt...
Oh and the lower front bumper insert and gloss black roof rack will also be available at the end of April in Phoenix in case anyone is interested in those.
The truck is currently in Charleston SC, the boards are about to be taken off before it gets shipped to Wescott in Phoenix for a build that includes rock sliders. If you are near me in SC Iāll take them off before I ship the truck, if you are near phoenix I'll leave them on and they can be...
For reference I just had my Pro fully wrapped in Xpel (including the fender flares) and ceramic coated for $6k + tax. SC prices tend to be a little lower than the national average.
Thank you for the explanation.
The way I'm having mine configured on my TRDP is:
Aux 1 - Big Baja light bar on Wescott roof rack
Aux 2 - Small Baja light bar inside Rego lower bumper
Aux 3 - Baja ditch lights
Presuming I also have the high beams and the stock light bar on all at the same time...
Very cool.
Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the switch panel when the Pro already comes with four aux switches?
Iām asking cause Iām about to start a build with Wescott with a bunch of lights but weāre just using the stock switches.
Falken 285/70/18 are on. Hereās few quick pics, sorry truck is filthy but rain and an inch of yellow pollen are not a great combo. :)
Havenāt had a chance to drive it yet but Iāll give some feedback when I do. Looks wise it looks the way the OEM setup should have been. Itās not crazy...
Thanks for all that info.
I decided to go with the Falken for a softer tire, gonna get them installed end of this week (also installing full XPEL wrap at the same time cause obviously these will kick up some stuff). No matter what Iāll keep them till the end of May cause Iāll be in No Arizona...
Whilst I appreciate the philosophical deconstruction of my motives, it doesn't answer any of the the questions I asked. And yes, my brain is able to grasp that greater size and usprung mass will have adverse affects on ride quality and fuel efficiency, Iām simply trying to minimize the effect...
Rather than start a new thread maybe you guys can help me out here with a couple of my questions cause Iām about to order 5 x 285/70/18 tires for my TRD Pro to put on my stock wheels.
- Some have mentioned minor modification is needed to fit the spare. For those who have actually done this...
Unless youāre driving up Mount Everest and decide to pause to admire the view, brake hold isnāt going to be much help in a vehicle with automatic transmission as it will not roll backwards on a hill. Even if the incline were severe enough to overcome the transmission creep you still wouldnāt...
Quick q, although I suspect I already know the answer to this.
Is there a way to set āholdā as default? This is the only vehicle Iāve ever owned/rented/driven with this feature that doesnāt retain the way you left it when you shut the car off.
Not a huge deal, itās just that my last car had it...
