18.6 mpg with 1900 miles and 285/70/18’s. Beats my 5th gen’s 16 mpg’s but with the smaller tank I am filling much more frequently which is a pain in the ass after 4 years with my X5 MSport that would go 500 miles on on a tank.

3 weeks and 1800mi into ownership on mine, seeing around 21-21.5 consistently on each tank but some "trips" showing higher averages of 23+. Mostly in Eco mode, air dam has been removed.

I still consistently get between 23-24 MPG overall on my stock ORP Hybrid, not including when I am off-road or pulling a trailer. I always run in eco mode, have not seen a reason to do otherwise. Air dam on unless I am off-road.

Mine is pretty new (under 1k miles still) and my first tank, the computer said 19ish mpg. That was pretty consistently over 75 almost all highway (driving it home). But I didn't top it off and I didn't know how to reset the trip meter, so likely not very accurate. My first accurate measurement was on my second fill up, today. 21.6 mpg with about 25% highway and 75 city. That's a hand calculation based on miles/gallons at pump, not the computer. Bone stock with ARB 3/4 roof rack and the air dam off.

Even if it never gets higher, I'm 100% a happy camper. 5th gen on the same routes/commute gets 17, and my Tundra gets 13.

2,500 miles and 2 oil changes down we are getting 19.6mpg. Sport mode 100% of the time and VERY spirited acceleration from stop lights 🤣

20.2 mpg overall average. Mixed city/highway. TRD Pro, eco mode, 3400 miles.
Still can’t get better than the 18&change mpg with 2k on the odometer and driving mostly in eco. Not that much better than my fifth gen.

I've had my 4Runner Trail Hunter for about 7 months now and was initially a bit disappointed in the fuel economy compared to actual ratings. I'm closing in on 5,000 miles, already changed the oil twice, once for break-in and one for the 5000 mile mark. For quite a while I was getting less than 15 in town and about 16 on the highway, that lower highway mileage I attribute to the speed limits in my area being 75 in miles per hour. Just did a trip from Central Texas into the San Juan mountains of Colorado and off-roaded for a week and that mileage started creeping up. I'm guessing it just needed more break-in because that entire trip averaged 17.5 miles per gallon (including days of rock crawling) and now that I'm home, I'm getting 19 in the city. And I ignore the mileage computer and do the math in a logbook. I'm pretty pleased with the results now. The maximum mileage I've gotten so far is 22.6 on the highway, I'm good with that.

I've noticed my mileage is less if I top off my tank vs wait till down closer to 1/4 tank left. Averages out better I guess.

35 mile trip on Houston highways. 35 miles there and back. 27mpg there/26.9mpg back. Not bad for 70 miles...

TRD ORP Hybrid - Normal mode
Air Dam on; OEM wheels/tires: 22 MPG average over 17 fill-ups and ~ 6k miles
Air dam off; TRD PRO wheels w/ 285/70R18 Toyo A/T III E-load (57#): 18 MPG average over 8 fill-ups and 2.4k miles - includes 3.4% milage adjustment to account for difference in tire size (i.e., odometer correction)
Notes:
- replaced plastic skids with LC front skid (steel - same as TH) - 21.9 vs 22 MPG on OEM set-up (too small to judge impact).
- last 5 fillups were with OEM setup (incl Air Dam & wheels/tires) replaced
Bottom line: bigger heavier tires reduce milage by 4 MPGs on average. And reduce total 19 gal range by ~ 75 miles (~418 to 342)
