just a reminder that if you dont manually reset the avg mpg display, it will show mpg since last reset, not per tank like it did in the 5th gen 4R display after each full tank fill

which annoys me to no end

Will be interesting to see how much it drops in the cold

@spyder40 , what is that phone app you're using? Is it just a basic Log app you adapted for fuel fill-ups and calculations?

It's called Fillup in the Google Play Store. It's simple and works well

I'm about as close as you get to worst-case scenario for mileage, speed limits 45-55 with a stop sign every mile...But I'm still getting over 20.

Thought I'd drop some info shared in my original post about my initial experiences in the first 1,000 miles in my hybrid ORP driving across Texas with a trailer. Averaged 16.9mpg while towing a ~2k lb. trailer. A small percentage of this was driving without the trailer in Big Bend NP and some light off-road, but the majority was in tow keeping highway speeds moderate between 65-70mph. Very pleased with these numbers and was always hunting for tow figures while researching options, so hope this is helpful!

Last few tanks I was into the 21 mpg range. As the weather in TX finally dropped below 90.....
currently @ 16.7K

TRD Pro with almost 700 miles on it, driving 90% on city roads in normal mode (not eco or sport), averaging 15.5mpg on 91/premium gas.

Hoping this will get better as the engine breaks in and settles down.

I still do not understand why there is such a disparity between the MPG values reported here. I get that a lift and different tires and such will likely affect mileage, but I would not expect the 25% or more difference being reported. Some even report nearly this different with mostly stock vehicles. I am still routinely getting around 23-24 MPG for highway/local roads (my drive to work is about 30 miles--20 miles freeway (but often some rush hour traffic) and the rest local roads. Of course off-road I get less but I generally ignore those numbers.

On one trip in Mammoth, CA, I went from where we were staying to a mountain top, did some photography, then returned--so the way out was almost all uphill, and unlike walking to school way back the return was all downhill. The car reported something like 15 MPG on the way up, and 55 MPG on the way back. Would be nice to get that second number more!

What trim do you have?

ORP (hybrid of course). No mods, original Michelin tires. I actually did install skid plates, but only last weekend so they are not in the mix yet as far as mileage :). I would not expect them to affect MPG noticeably, but will be interesting to see.

BTW, everyone, as a reminder you can see what specific trim each of us has in our ID pane to the left of each message (assuming of course you entered it correctly initially, but that generally is the case).

I don't get some of the really bad ones either. I am probably worst-case scenario for mileage. Most of my driving is speed limit 45-55, with a stop sign every single mile...And it's at least 8 miles to get to town. My worst tank so far (3k miles) is just under 19. Hand calculate every tank, 87 octane.

On tanks where I did more normal driving, I'm hitting over 22.
