Hey all!

I've had my 2025 pro for about 2 months. All around - it is a fantastic truck.

Only real complaint are the door panels.

Has anyone taken these apart yet and added sounded deadening and foam to tighten them up?

They do feel light and cheap, and rattle from time to time. Tempted to open it up check any screws and fill it with foam.

I've had my ORP for a few months now. Doors rattle, seatbelt rattles, sun roof rattles. It's outrageous how much these 6th gens rattle for the amount of money we pay for them.

If you so much as play any amount of music that has mid-bass above volume 10, the doors sound like they're filled with Legos... at least in mine.

I will be fully sound deadening and insulating my front doors and roof very soon.

My only real gripe with the 6th gens. Everything else has been perfect.

I can chime in on that one. My RAV4 was like a snare drum, at least to my quality standards. Mil-specs on the metal has gotten much thinner over the years. My 2016 5th gen was very solid on the body skin.

I did run the butyl mat sound deadening material in my RAV4 just in the doors and in the rear hatch area quarter panels. Made all the difference.

Yes new cars are getting lighter to adhere to Cafe requirements. Lots of plastic, thinner metal.

Same here on the new Platinum. Has anyone replaced the speakers? They sound cheap compared to my 15 4Runner sound system. Does the Plat have a dedicated sub in the back like the 5th gen did?

I was thinking of upgrading the speakers and paying to have dynamat installed on all doors to stop the rattles, drives me NUTS. If I watch a video with someone talking instead of music, I have to turn the bass to -10 or it rattles every word.

Yes there are many butyl Matt sound deadening materials out there that stick very well.

And there are many YouTube videos to show the basic procedure.

I did this on my RAV4 hybrid limited.
I feel that most of the videos are over the top because they are audiophiles. I was more interested in just eliminating the snare type of resonation that was going on.

So you really don't have to cover 90 or 100% of your door panels really only about 40%, and if you back it up with a thin foam that's designed for sound deadening, it will enhance it even further with minimal work.

I did that behind my speakers and it is a phenomenal difference. I did it myself and I can tell you that it's not that hard but it takes some patience.

I did one door at a time just because of that.. but it was well worth it, now going down the freeway I honestly feel like I'm in my old Mercedes. Very tight and quiet

At some point I might even take a look at my 6th gen off-road premium.

JBL system is worthless when it rattes everywhere. The 25 Camry jbl sounds sooo nice. Anyhow I had the dealer fix the rattle in my driver door near the arm rest area certain tones made a rattle not like from the speaker area this was right near my arm shoulder area. Now I hear rattling on my back passenger side lol. I’ll probably pay to have three doors done. Never needed to do this so not sure who to call. Sound advice???? :) jkjkjk

Did the dealership do the door fix for free for everyone that had it done? Or did they charge you?

They didn’t charge me anything to fix the rattle in the driver door. But it was annoying. I don’t want to bring up the other doors rattling

Taking mine in tomorrow, so do the other doors rattle? Do I need to have this done to all 4, or just the front 2?

Well once the fixed my door I can hear some rattling on my the rear passenger door now so I dunno…. It’s gonna be really them if they can’t duplicate it they won’t fix it. The driver side for me was annoying cause it was right near my face

When I first purchased my 5th gen 4Runner and got on the forums years ago there were many complaints of how hollow the doors sounded when shut compared to the 4th gen and how the hood flexed and how loud the interior was from lack of hood insulation. It was a common complaint. Seems it's gotten worse with the 6th gen. For my 5th gen I did use dynamat for hood and front doors which if not measurably lowering noise levels certainly did make shutting the doors seem way more substantial and not tinny.

They went ahead and did both my front doors and I have to say that I no longer hate having my music on or listening to a podcast anymore.
