one other question, @Van Solo might be able to answer:

how easy is it to pull down the overhead console? I have never done this before, and i do not want to break any clips. as you suggested, it is simply a hard tug? two hands or one? any technique?

my FITCAMX arrived, and ready to install....! just dont want to break anything

Update - read other posts in this forum. Pulled really hard, popped it off and installed dash cam in a minute.
Its a swift pull from the front end (windshield side) down !
get your grip and pull fast and quick!

@Van Solo , when you purchased the larger 256 gb micro sd card, did you put it straight into the FITCAMX and format it in the dadhcam
Itself?

Or did you have to format the card in a computer? If computer, what file format did you use? When you get a chance, let us know.

I too bought a larger card and I just want to make sure I do it right the first time. Thanks!!

Doesn't the fitcamx for 2025 4runner now have the tap for active cruise control,
so no longer any need to pull overhead console down, it's now just pulling
the surround at the rear view mirror and tapping acc plug with fitcamx pigtail ?
This is how my RAV4 fitcamx is wired, and I was waiting for fitcamx to make one
for 4runner (pulling the overhead console to access the OEM cam power is a PITA)

Yes the normal kit will connect that way, but when the car is off, no power will go to camera. But if you use the optional “Sienna” cable it will still receive power and allow for what FitcamX calls “parking mode” so it can still capture after the car is shut off. This just is a cleaner way of getting “parking mode” without having to do the cable to fuse box where you tap a fuse that has constant power.

Working on the install this weekend. Once I get these overhead trims off without breaking any clips, I'm good! I hope!

Hello.

Question for anyone who has already installed with the parking mode wiring from the overhead console.

When you went through the liner, towards the mirror (to connect to the dash cam) what's the best route so that the wiring is best hidden and out of site.

It is probably obvious when I get into it tomorrow but I thought I would ask the ones that have already installed it.

Appreciate any input. Thank you in advance.
