25 TRD ORP gas. 3474 miles. Backing up, I heard the brake squeal!!! First time! Loud enough my wife heard it inside the house.

SMH…

If it happens again, I’m going to the dealership.
Sorry to hear. Welcome to the Squeaky Brakes club. 2 attempts at the TSB at this point for me after first trying new set of brakes etc.....squeaks less with the 2nd TSB "fix" but still does it esp on a wet day. I give credit to the dealer who sold me the car for trying a few times - likely w/o reimbursement under the warranty b/c Toyota has given up. Apparently brakes are too difficult for Toyota engineers to figure out.

@mikenewowner Dang. That’s a bummer.

I’m hesitant to declare (knock on wood) but I haven’t heard a squeak since then. Fingers crossed!

I thought this was a shim kit that didnt get installed on front brakes... at least what the dealership i get serviced at told me thats what it was. Bring in they "test" it and 2-3 months for parks to replace brakes.... Im almost at 10k and they will be replacing all four

Wait…. Bet they eventually add rotors to the tsb once everyone who gets fixed with just pads…. They’re saving the real $$ fix for later. Every other truck model on their new platform has this issue except the Tacoma. Every model gets rotors except landcruiser and 4Runner. Both sequia and tundra have had the brake issue since like 2022 when they did the redesign so they already have like 3 years of tsbs for it

Consistency Award goes to Toyota.

I've been told shims were in backwards.... I was told the first TSP was not done correctly but this one was. I was told this adjustment will work. I'm not a car person, I just know I have not ever owned a vehicle w/ squeaky brakes like this and no one able to fix.

I had the tsb done twice still squeals. I’ve been dealing with it since March 20th 2025. Even lost arbitration

Right.. ive changed brakes, rotors on trucks actual trucks not suvs since 1993 and it was odd that they screw up shims or even have to have shims for the brakes...which is kinda why im draggin my feet on getting them replaced. The wife yells at me everytime she hears it....I thought you were gonna take this in to get fixed!! Kinda do want to start the back n forth

I have a 2025 TRD Sport Premium (non hybrid) and just hit 8k miles. Squeak just started when backing up but not very loud and not every time. Was thinking about discussing it with the dealer when I take it in for the 10K service but now I think I may wait till Toyota decides to change the rotors too. I don't want to make it worse and can live with the intermittent low sounding squeak.

mine has started within the last month or two randomly. quick jab of the brakes and it goes away or letting off the brakes a little lessens it also.

only happens randomly exiting the garage after sitting all night (M-T) or monday morning after sitting since thursday after work (drive the tundra during my off days)

after the intial squeal in the morning, it never happens again for the rest of the day, even when i park in the garage for and hour or two and run errands later in day/night.

only happens when i back out of the garage at 5am

I think I may have solves this issue!

I sprayed CRC Brake Cleaner in my front brake pads earlier this month. Sprayed on the pads, avoiding calipers & on back side. I turned the wheels to get more room to spray them.

Magically, the squealing has STOPPED right after! I'm not sure it's a fluke or something else but in the morning when backing up from garage to driveway, it's peacefully quiet 🥲 Been 3 weeks now. No other issues at all.

Ambient temp at 7am is ranging from 30° - 50°.Some time wet, some time dry.

Please let us know if the noise comes back after a few months of wear on the pads. Thanks.
