I’m just jealous some of you have been able to get the TSB fix done multiple times, I’ve been waiting months for parts to even get it done once. Mine was dead silent the first 1000 miles, but now that I have 6K miles it squeals EVERY time I back up regardless of incline parking, temps, humidity, etc. I’m not even in a humid environment by any means, high desert Oregon.

I want to say my dealership is awesome. I don’t blame them for my problem I blame Toyota for not allowing them to try and keep fixing it. With that said. The parts excluding the rotors are the same part numbers used in the Tundra tsb and are interchangeable. The issue is Toyota is sending kits basically a box with all the parts in it. My dealer had some kits laying around for the tundra that were not used and were able to apply the tsb twice. That said it didn’t work anyhow. You can go here https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings look up the 25 tundra and 25 4Runner then view the tsb. Compare the part numbers

1100 miles. Mine just did it for the first time this morning while backing out of the garage. This can't be happening.

Have you tried backing into your parking spots? 🤪

JK. Though I do back into my garage, so I wonder if I’ll be less likely to run into this problem?

If you back in and then drive out the garage and put it in reverse if it squeals in general it will squeal that way. It’s good though if you don’t wanna wake the neighbors. The garbage truck sounds better in reverse.

Put signs in back window which say "2025 4 Runner = Squeaky Brakes. Toyota do better" If I wanted a car that didn't work as advertised I'd get a Tesla.

We should get a survey going, I’m interested in how many miles on average it takes before the issue typically starts!

I brought this up with my dealer, and they specifically said that I had to wait for the 4Runner specific kits to arrive. Even though they also admitted the parts are all the same.

My dealership is the only Toyota dealer within a 3 hour drive, so they know people aren't going to go elsewhere and treat their customers as such. Frustrating.

I had this same issue the second day of ownership...back in April. Went through the whole dealership service center dance, talking directly with "Toyota", got the supposed replacement rotors, shims, pads, etc. Two weeks later random high pitch squeal when backing. Now, well it's constant. Cold start reverse, heated reverse after driving, doesn't matter. Frustrating AF

I’ve just given up. Never been beating so badly lol. Collecting material for arbitration back in October drained the life outta me.

i have had it twice in ND. but then again our moisture content is pretty low during the 6 months of winter we have up here.

have noticed light brake application backing out of the garage makes them squeal pretty loud. if i apply the brakes harder than light it goes away.

only other thing is maybe the rotors are getting the light layer of rust from moisture content in the air interacting with the brake pads more so than usual.

this is just a guess
