This is what I would change.
Front bumper to actual steel one not that plastic crap that is 6 inches away from the bumper bar! That way when you get hit at 5mph by someone reversing out of the parking spot in their Venza you won't suffer $7500 worth of damage on your scratch free TH. I kid you not! I bended fender back with two fingers! What's the damage you might ask- well headlight gone, bumper cover gone, hood crumbled, fender pushed into the door, side fender brackets mangled/cracked.
For comparison once upon a time I was going 78mph in 5th gen through SD and took 10 point white tail buck head into a driver front ( that impact pushed me onto adjacent lane ) it spun around damaging bumper, fender, both doors and rear quarter panel. I had to use ratchet straps to pull fender forward freeing up my door but I didn't even crack a headlight. 6th gen would be absolutely obliterated at the impact.

Yes I totally agree. My third gen had steel bumpers. I would tap things all the time with those bumpers and nothing twice about damage . We are in a plastic fantastic age!

-Better sound system. This is the worst sound system Ive had in any new or used vehicle Ive bought in the last 20 years
-Tighter/better interior: I get the "purpose" of the 4R, but the plasticy, loose, etc. fitting/feel of the interior is unacceptable for even the starting price point of the 4R
-Side view mirrors: same as above; worst Ive had in any vehicle in the last 20 years. Cant see shit and you would think since they cheaped out on the interior for an "off road vehicle" theyd have better sideview mirrors for off road visibility
-AC is shit. My 05 4R and 10 F150 STX had much better AC.

I love the seats and the exterior of the 4R is great, but the above kill the overall feel of it

I like the way the 4Runner is from the exterior side, however, for the price they are asking in Canada, how about an interior that feels the money they are asking for?

Take note that my ideas are for what we can buy in Canada, our options are quite limited compared to what is available in the USA.

• Heated steering wheel without having to add 4k$ to move up from the standard model.
• 5 seats option on the standard model, why 7 seats only, this is not a minivan.
• More color options on the standard model (black, grey and white are no colors).
• Did I say less plastic? C'mon, Toyota! You are asking over 58k$ for a base model, make it look inside like it's worth that price.
• Availability? Hello! Can we have at least one model available to test drive without having to be put on a waiting list? It's been over a year and half since the Gen6 is out and these are UFOs in my area. When you see one on the road, it's your lucky day. Stealership are asking more for a 2025 model than what is displayed on Toyota's web site for a 2026.

I'd kill for Heritage Blue and Supersonic Red on our SR5 in Canada. Personally also the big infortainment screen paired with the small cluster, but that's never happening for stingy Toyota

I get that everyone is shrinking their gas tanks (the current gen Ranger gas tank even makes the 4R's look good by comparison, and that's somehow supposed to be enough for the 2.7EB ) but would it have killed Toyota to include a 21-23gal tank

If we had riders in the back seat more often, then less cargo length. For now, any riders need to take it as it is.

Yeah, it's a small complaint. My son, who is 6'1" is back there a lot. He has enough room, but a couple more inches would be nice. Not any type of deal breaker for sure. I love my 4Runner.

Turn the fake hood scoop on the pro into a real one. I had a 90 Celica All Trac Turbo with a scoop. On the top of the engine was the intercooler.

These suggestions run the gamut of reasonable life cycle improvements or added options to SEMA fantasy build realm or even complete generational changes, not model year improvements.

A front locker option is reasonable. An entirely new NA V6 isn't reasonable. A solid front axle or a "Rock" edition? Come on. Additional colors and availability? Reasonable. All new seat design? Not reasonable. New mirrors or "better" sound system? Maybe. A larger fuel tank? Unlikely.

There's three questions collapsed and being answered. First, “What could Toyota reasonably change/add for MY2027?" Second, “What do you wish Toyota had designed differently for the sixth generation?" or “What do you hope Toyota changes for future seventh generation?" Lastly, “How could Toyota build my fantasy 4Runner.”

Move the emergency lights button from the far right (behind the climate dials? what were they thinking) to either the center or the left. In an emergency situation, it's too far away from me as the driver to be able to intuitively press it. Half obscured by vision, and too far away from me. Bad design.

This is genuinely my only gripe with the vehicle!

As of right now, I like it the way it is (minus a couple of thing I will touch on). Start adding to much, it takes away from the fun and creation of building your own, along with the cost will skyrocket! Knowing you can do/get the same product for cheaper.

As of now, my only real complaints are this being I just bought a 2026 TRD ORP

- WAY too many TRD variants! Far as I’m concerned, it’s going to devalue the name “TRD” Kepp Sport it’s own

- Road noise is a little loud. When stepping into the ORP, should be better dampening in the doors and so one. In my 2017 TRD ORP it made a nice difference when I put it in.

- Should be some “premium” in the premium. Lol. A lot of plastic in the doors. It’s cool, but again.

- The JBL system. Look, it’s ok, sounds fairly well, but the “sub” is pointless and it’s going to cost quite a bit to bring it back to the way it should. Which, Toyota should be paying for considering what’s charged. Along with you can buy a nice setup for what’s being charged.

I’ve only had it for a week, but the changes made are nice, and what people asked for overall. Obviously my views can change later lol
