  1. Best A/T Tires Review: Scorpion All Terrain Plus, Nokian Outpost NAT, BFG KO3, Westlake SL369, Wrangler Duratrac RT, Wildpeak AT4, Recon Grappler

That was another unexpected tire I found in my search. Seems to be well reviewed initially.
  2. TRD Performance Cat-Back Exhaust - reviews / impressions?

So true. I heard them back to back and so that's a different perspective than another person who hasn't necessarily heard the stock exhaust or just likes louder exhaust. I just think this exhaust in particular offers the tone and timbre that a lot of import exhaust modifications seem to do. It...
  3. TRD Performance Cat-Back Exhaust - reviews / impressions?

I test drove two 4Runners in the beginning of my research. First, with regular exhaust, the second with the TRD exhaust. Both TRD ORP, one was a hybrid, other gas. I was appalled how terrible the TRD exhaust sounded. Loud, obnoxious, drone, reverberating, pounding, terrible tone; like those...
  4. Transfer Case Oil Change - what kind?

Got it. I use Schaeffer's 75W90 GL-5 in the differentials in my Ram, I see no reason not to use it in the 4Runner. About $20 a quart.
  5. Transfer Case Oil Change - what kind?

I don't know what cost has to do with choosing a GL-5 over a GL-4 or not using Toyota fluids. I'd recommend a economical, if your price conscious, GL-4 over a cheap GL-5. Mobil 1 for example, about $20/quart.
  6. Recovery Gear recommendations?

    I bought the following from Factor55: 1x Extreme Duty Kinetic Energy Rope 7/8″x 30′ 2x STANDARD DUTY SOFT SHACKLE – 1/2" X 10” 1x Extreme Duty Tow Strap 30′ x 2″ 2x 3/4" Crosby Shackle for Trucks 1x HitchLink 2.0 1x Quick Release Hitch Pin for 2-2.5″ Hitch Receivers 1x Ultimate Recovery Bag -...
  7. Best A/T Tires Review: Scorpion All Terrain Plus, Nokian Outpost NAT, BFG KO3, Westlake SL369, Wrangler Duratrac RT, Wildpeak AT4, Recon Grappler

Their earlier review of that Nokian Outpost nAT put it on my list. I, too, am interested in the Pirelli but am finding the same thing and it is very frustrating. It's not a problem getting a tire with those words on them, it's another thing knowing they're the exact version you wanted and no...
  8. DCM / Telematics Module Bypass

Hmm, they told me it was behind and to the right of the screen. Maybe that was a Tacoma or a specific trim. I was hoping not to go on a hunt to find it. I'll assume it's behind the charger.
  9. DCM / Telematics Module Bypass

Remote start still functions. Connected remote start through the app does not. I've not read anything contrary to that until your apparent observation. Direct, first-hand information is relatively sparse, however. Similarly, all reports and a image provided to me by autoharnesshouse.com shows...
  10. Getting rid of dealer installed vehicle's tracker

That's what I'm saying. I fully support the effort, but how sure can one be? How sensitive is the detector? Where is the radiator? Now close do you have to be to tge radiator? When does each transmitter actually emit a signal? How do you know if a detected signal is foreign? I don't think I'm...
  11. Getting rid of dealer installed vehicle's tracker

The OBD2 port is the usual place, but surely there are other ways and locations that could be used. I'd say anywhere there's power available and if they're committed enough, splicing wires means endless possibilities. Clearly, convenience plays into this, but how can you be sure there's no...
  12. What are people actually paying for their 4Runners right now?

What was the nature of the GPS charge? What function or feature were they charging for?
  13. What grease and favorite grease gun for prop shafts ?

Paragon 3000 in a Alemite 555-E Grease Gun, with an awesome LockNLube Grease Coupler, and swivel hose.
  14. Platinum 12 volt battery

I didn't look closely, but I've seen more than a few photos of flooded batteries in the 4Runner. Distilled water only should be added to the cells and I'd fully charge the battery first, and then evaluate level.
  15. Cooper Vs. Bridgestone Vs. Goodyear 🤷🏼‍♂️ Always some decision to make!

I had Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT on my Ram 2500 truck and I liked them. Toyo M655 now which are wonderful tires. Both are load range E, understandably. I've had General Grabber AT2 on a Tahoe and liked them. The best all terrain tire I've ever used was on that Tahoe, the Goodyear Wrangler...
  16. Cooper Vs. Bridgestone Vs. Goodyear 🤷🏼‍♂️ Always some decision to make!

I looked at many tires; Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 Michelin Primacy A/T Michelin LTX Trail Michelin CrossClimate Michelin X Ice Snow SUV Continental TerrainContact A/T Toyo Open Country A/T BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A There were another dozen or so. Some were...
  17. Cooper Vs. Bridgestone Vs. Goodyear 🤷🏼‍♂️ Always some decision to make!

Every time I'm sure, I read about another tire! 😅
  18. Getting rid of dealer installed vehicle's tracker

For me, it's the total lack of discrete control. It's all or nothing with Toyota. I understand that some data is necessary to be processed to provide some of the services. It's bad enough that basic features are complete hidden behind a subscription paywall under the guise of "cloud services"...
