I did my first long trip in the 4R. It was cold, a little windy. I was travelling between 65-80 for the trip. I kept hearing a crackling noise, like someone crushing a potato chip bag. I know other click and pops have been happening in the vehicle which is disappointing. I am still trying to isolate and find them but this one is new.

I asked the passenger who has better hearing than me and she said it was the wipers.

I checked the wiper arms at a gas stop and found they had good spring tension in the middle but the wipers at each end look like they could be being lifted and hit back down.

Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue?

When I get time, I will try to replicate but then stop, put a long woolly sock on each wiper and drive again. If its the wipers making the noise, the sock should mute that noise.

Thanks in advance......

My front airdam was loose on one side, missing one screw. Now I wonder would that movement create a clicking noise.

I will test when the weather is better.
Thanks
